People always tell you life isn't fair... but for one week every summer, it absolutely is.

This week, the Cabell County Fair became the backdrop for some incredible Hurricane Media portraits.

Between the colorful umbrellas, the midway, the animals, and a whole lot of laughter, these sessions reminded us that the best locations aren't always the obvious ones.

Sometimes you just have to grab your camera, wander the fairgrounds, and see what happens.

Some sessions are planned... and some feel like they were meant to happen.

Kaylyn, one of our incredible Hurricane Media Senior Reps, wanted a peaceful summer evening by the creek for her senior session.

What we didn't plan for was the surprise waiting for us.

As we were getting started, the property owner smiled and asked,

"Would you like to use my old truck?"

We were not ready.

What followed was one of those sessions photographers dream about. A timeless vintage truck, a quiet creek, golden evening light filtering through the trees, and a senior who trusted every crazy idea we threw her way... including lying in the water.

The result?

Images that feel less like photographs and more like pages from a story.

These are the nights we'll remember long after the memory cards are emptied.

Class of 2027...
Sometimes the best part of the session is the part no one planned.

a success, and we're looking for volunteers to help us create an amazing experience for our players, families, and guests!

Whether you can give an hour or the entire day, your time and support will make a difference.

📅 Friday (4:00 PM)
📍 Paul Laurence Dunbar Second Avenue Center
Help unload equipment and event supplies.

📅 Saturday (Beginning around 9:00 AM) & Sunday (Beginning around 12:00 PM)
We're looking for volunteers throughout the day to assist with:

✅ Event setup and cleanup
✅ Operating the game clock
✅ General event support
✅ Other tasks as needed

🎓 High school students needing community service hours are encouraged to volunteer!

🤝 Individuals, families, businesses, churches, civic groups, and community organizations are all welcome to lend a hand.

Together, we can make this year's Jungle another unforgettable weekend for our community!
