💗 How to choose your wedding send off 💗

What is a wedding send off? A fun way to leave your reception where all your family/friends/guests line up & wish you off! These can include: rose petals (as pictured), sparklers, confetti, glow sticks, mini marshmallows, streamers, bubbles, or pretty much anything else you can think of. So, how do you choose what is right for your wedding?

➡️ First consider where you will be leaving. If you are outdoors/in nature, consider something that you won’t have to clean up like bubbles or sparklers. Biodegradable confetti or flower petals are a good option as well, but I abide by the leave no trace principle and recommend you clean up if something falls on the floor outdoors.

➡️ If you are exiting indoors at a venue or a home, make sure there are no restrictions and then decide what you are okay cleaning up if your family is cleaning the area.

➡️ Consider your budget as some options can be pricier than others.

➡️ Consider what time you are exiting. If you are leaving in daylight, sparklers can still look great, but won’t have the same pop as they would if you were leaving at night. If you leave after sunset, almost every exit can be captured with a flash and look amazing.

➡️Consider safety, and when the big day comes, make sure you have someone in charge to get everyone lined up correctly & ready. If you decide to do sparklers, do not light them until the very last minute before you exit, as most of the time they go out very quickly & you want them lit for your exit!

➡️Most of all, do something you will love and remember! I definitely recommend planning an exit as they are a fun way to celebrate entering your new life together & they can be one of my favorite photos I capture at your wedding!

As a side note, if you plan on partying at your reception at night & worry about people leaving for your send off, or wanting to do it when your photographer is there, do a faux send off earlier in the evening for everyone that is there & then come back & party!!

With a ceremony on the beach, & sneaking away in between rain showers to run on the sand, to the dance party at the end of the night, it was truly a perfect wedding. So grateful to have met these two. I feel eternally grateful I get to be a part of so many sweet love stories day after day 💞

Looking to have your photos taken in the Tetons? Here are my top 5 favorite photo spots in Grand Teton National Park:

There are SO many more spots in and around the park that highlight the Teton mountains that are so beautiful!! Even in the winter the park has gorgeous snow covered spots. Let’s talk about common FAQs about rings: 💍

These are the questions I get most about wedding rings, but if you have other questions, feel free to reach out!

✨Should I wear my ring in my bridal photos if my session is before my wedding?
Yes! Those photos represent you two getting married so it is appropriate to wear your rings.

✨Should I wear my wedding ring down the aisle?
It’s completely up to you, but if you are exchanging rings during the ceremony, you can do one of two things: give the rings to the officiant, groom, ring bearer, groomsmen or bridesmaid, or someone else you trust. Or you can wear your engagement ring on your right hand and exchange the ring during the ceremony.

✨What can I do to get good photos of my ring on my wedding day?
Let your photographer know you want detail shots of your ring. If you want a flat lay of a bunch of different items (ranging from shoes, veil, perfume, invitations, or whatever else you want) make sure to have those items ready for your photographer, probably at the beginning of the day while you get ready. Remember these photos can have as many or as little items as you want, like the shoes and rings pictured here.

Most importantly, make sure you choose a photographer that will capture the vision you are wanting for your wedding and will get the detail shots you want!

Just 5 weeks away from meeting our little boy. If there is anything I’ve learned throughout pregnancy it is how incredible life is. I am in awe in the fact that my body knows exactly what to do to grow a life, in all its complexities. I feel humbled by the changes that this little boy will bring Spencer and I, but I am also so excited. And I feel so incredibly blessed to have had a pregnancy where I have been able to work & photograph & keep doing what I love. What a wild ride these last 35 weeks have been, it has been painful and exhausting but also so sweet and exciting and full of joy. I can’t wait for what’s to come!!!!

Just a reminder my maternity leave starts in October! I will still be posting, responding to emails, and all of that. Please reach out for any inquiries asap as in 2024 I’ll be back at it and my books are filling up soo fast!!
