Qué Bonito Es Lo Bonito 🇲🇽💃

In honor of Cinco De Mayo, I wanted to capture the beauty and artistry of Folklórico. I’m deeply fascinated by the culture behind this dance. This shoot was truly inspiring to me, as not only the essence of it was beautiful but as her message to dancing & teaching the dance is very heartfelt. It was quite interesting to shoot the movement of this art, as it felt natural.

“She believes that learning these dances is more than just technique; but also about understanding the cultural significance behind each step, rhythm, and costume. Through her teaching, she ensures that students not only master the movements but also appreciate the stories and traditions that have been passed down for generations.”

Working with was an honor as she strives to bring the culture of Folklórico to our hometown of Immokalee Florida, offering dance lessons and spreading the art of folklore. Something that feels empowering and full of culture being taught to the youth is truly a blessing.

Agua Purísima - fase 2

Art imitating Art 🌀!!! Inspired by ’s glorious album ‘Submarine’, this phase of this project has to be my absolute favorite. We experimented with low light and the mesmerizing color blue in an innovative water setup, which ultimately resulted in a stunning outcome.

The beauty of blue can be interpreted in various ways. Some may view it as sadness, while others see it with joy. For me, it symbolizes a sense of serenity and purity. When I encounter blue, I feel a profound sense of heartsease and peace. Life comes in many colors, but blue is the one I aspire to resonate with the most in this world. 🌎

Agua Purísima - Fase 1

My very first attempt at creating an editorial-inspired photoshoot was honestly an absolute dream come true, and who better to collaborate with than the incredibly talented ! I absolutely adore every aspect of these photographs, I couldn’t have been more thrilled to have worked with Maripaz.

For this project, I aimed to blend the essence of pure water and light with divine femininity to create something ethereal and timeless. Water, known for its fluidity and strength, symbolizes the nurturing qualities often associated with feminine energy. By emphasizing the purity of these feminine qualities and intertwining these elements, I hope to evoke a sense of serenity and strength.

Hello everyone, I’ve realized that I’ve never introduced myself as the person behind the lens. My name is Jovani Rodriguez, and I’m a professional portrait photographer. I’ve been passionate about photography since I was a sophomore in high school, and I’ve had the privilege of capturing life-lasting moments for many years now.

Emerging from the struggles of a migrant agricultural family, my art resonates as a powerful protest against the relentless cycle of labor beneath the scorching sun. Fueled by an unwavering commitment to disrupt this cycle, I strive to create art that speaks volumes on its own.

I am deeply inspired by my culture and enjoy capturing powerful images that tell stories about traditions. One of my favorite projects is “A Harvest of Joy,” in which my photographs were featured in an article for Edible Nashville. This opportunity not only allowed me to showcase my work but also to highlight my lifestyle. Despite the challenges of growing up in a migrant family, I take great pride in my background.

As a digital arts student and part-time portrait photographer, I am dedicated to capturing unforgettable moments that inspire and uplift. My passion for this craft enables me to create striking photographs that leave a lasting impact on the hearts and souls of those who experience them.
