Today's photo shoot was from Fort Macon beach access to Oceanana pier. It was a good morning for whelks and not much else. I took pictures of my finds and left there them for someone else.

Often times I will take several shots of the same subject trying to get the perfect angle. Then, once home I edit them to choose the best ones to post. However, today when I was scrolling through my camera roll I noticed a lens flare that started out as a perfect orb that became a yellow heart. The other day, I made a post with a yellow heart formed in the clouds. To which got me to wondering, are these yellow hearts a sign? If so, I am wondering what? I mean it isn't everyday that you see a yellow heart in the clouds and never, have I ever seen a yellow heart lens flare.πŸ’› 😏 ✨️ πŸ€”

Ahhh, the cooler temperatures in the mid 70s at sunrise certainly was welcomed for this Labor Day. What a great way to start the last official day of Summer. I love that I live at a beach that has all four seasons. I am looking forward to Autumn πŸ‚ 😊. This morning's beach walk photo shoot was from Fort Macon beach access gazebo to the Oceanana Fishing Pier.

I have debated for a long time over wheather or not if I should change my page name. Some people say, no. That is how we know you. But I just have this inking that it would benefit me to change it to Sherry's Seascapes. I wouldn't change anything about the page. I would still take beach walks and share with you the shells and seaglass that I find while out for my sunrise photo shoots. The only difference is that the new page name would be known more for it's photography. I really would like to seek out what you all have been encouraging me to do. Sell my photography. The best part about the new endeavor is that you would continue to enjoy your virtual beach walks with me. You wouldn't have to do anything. You would get a notification that Sherry's Shells and Seaglass has changed it's name to Sherry's Seascapes. If you are following me now, you would still be following me under the new name change.

There were several beach goers out early enjoying the fresh morning air at the last official sunrise of Summer. My view of it was from Oceanana Fishing Pier.

I hope your Labor Day is as good.

Of course, I knew before I posted it would most likely get more attention than my inspirational beach content. Sad but true, there is no such thing as bad publicity. In fact, the more controversial the more attention it attracts. I post daily, spend hours on the beach, walk miles and take hundreds of pictures. Then, spend hours editing and creating content in hopes of sharing something good. It is a labor of love that I had done for years for free before this page ever monitized. All that positive energy spent on my inspirational beach content that makes mere pocket change. I am truly saddened how I can post about a man fishing on a pier that clearly has signs posted that it is not allowed has gotten high engagement. SERIOUSLY, how is it that I have so many wonderful comments from my faithful followers on my beach content but it is this post that has more engagement by non followers. How did it fall into their algorithm? Does Meta only push the views for negative content? πŸ€”

I have posted screenshots of my recent top content by views. Typically, on the days that I have found shells or seaglass I have more views. Posting the sea turtle hatchling was second. The Falcon9 launch and sea turtle eggs did well too. Then, I posted a screenshot from today and yesterday's views. Lastly, I posted a screenshot of analytics from the post on the man fishing on the pier to show how Meta pushes views for controversial content out to non followers. This knowledge of how the algorithm works is discouraging. I question how I will ever have a substantial income from my inspirational beach content on Facebook. I wish I knew how to better use other social media platforms.

As soon as I stepped out on the beach I knew there was going to be an explosion of color. This morning's sunrise was filled with gorgeous, vibrant clouds that filled the horizon. The sunrise was a kaleidoscopic chain reaction change of colors that was breathtaking.
