Another windy sunrise. Looks like it is going to be windy thoughout the day. Not grear for sitting on the beach but it could be great for shelling.

What do you think? Does the wind blow the shells in? Last week we after the wind settled down we had one good day of shelling. But I heard that Shakleford and Cape Lookout were loaded with shells. The wind has been more intense this week. Maybe once this wind blows over we will have good shelling here at Atlantic Beach, NC and Fort Macon, North Carolina State Parks and Recreation.

All this wind churning up the water has to be stirring loose shells on the ocean floor. The anticipation is building. Too bad I won't be here after the wind and ocean settles down when they start washing in. I'll be away from the beach for about about a week or so.

I did take a walk on the beach even with this wind. It wasn't bad walking with the wind but the headwind is very forceful. I ended up going to the pier. Once you make down to the end, The Barnacle did a great job blocking the wind.

What a glorious way to start the day. Surrounded by so much beauty it is sure to open your soul to let joy fill your being.

The picturesque view touching your senses. Walking through the ocean's water washing over your feet. The salty wind rushing through your hair. The early morning sun warming your skin. Every cell of your body awakens to be alert and ready for the day.

It was an absolute amazing beauty of a sunrise from Fort Macon. A sky full of colorful clouds.

The wind is still going strong. With the rain that we had overnight the sand was wet and heavy to keep the sand from blowing. Maybe, just maybe when the wind settles down there will be a good possibility that there will be shells to wash up on the beach. Like I said yesterday, there could be really nice shells on Atlantic Beach, NC. If your want to increase your odds for better shells book now for a ferry that will take you out to Shakleford or Cape Lookout with Island Express Ferry Service or Island Ferry Adventures. The Morehead City Ferry Service will take you to Sand Dollar Island if you are mainly interested in finding sand dollars.

Blue hour 💙 😍 🥰

This morning just before sunrise we had those deep beautiful blues. The hazy atmosphere filtered the light for a soft focus photo shoot.

It was so windy the sand was flying across the dry portion of the beach at med spa exfoliating speed. Thankfully, the low tide provided a large wet surface on the perimeter of the shore where the sand didn't blow. If you could get from the beach access to the water quickly you were safe.😁

The last time we has strong winds like this there was good shelling once the ocean settled down. What do you think? Will we have shells here at Atlantic Beach, NC? Maybe. But to increase your odds, I'd say, book your trips on the ferry for Shakleford and Capelook for the next few days. A week ago, people said, the shells were plentiful there after the last windy weather that we had here.

Fort Macon State Park photo shoot beach walk had pleanty for the eye to see. The green seaoats on the sand dunes, boats circled the channels, some people walking the shores shelling and others fishing. It was hard for me not to be click happy. When I got home it was even harder to pick the ones to not post from the ones I would post.

There is a small craft advisory until tomorrow from the strong wind that we are having. From what I could tell the boats that were on the water were taking caution by staying in the inlet. The wind was kicking up the sand so, I didn't walk the ocean side of the beach. I chose to stay on the Eastern perimeter of Fort Macon. I walked from the jette to the coastguard station.

You might be a beach lover if that anticipation begins to build once you are on the sandy path. When the water is finally in sight there is this ahhh moment accompanied by a deep sigh acknowledging you have arrived. Your senses automatically release tension and gives way to relax no matter the weather conditions. Raise your hand in the comments. 🙋‍♀️
