Last Sunday I visited Anderson Falls and had it all to myself. The water was flowing well, weather was perfect and the birds made for a beautiful soundtrack. I sent up the drone for a different point of view.

Let me know what you think!

They say to photograph the feeling, not the scene. Yesterday morning photographing this I felt peace, solitude, nostalgia, freedom and hope. ......
I got started yesterday heading se from Indy towards the little town of Waldron. After I got off the highway, I hit the backroads when I came upon this barn sitting all alone in a field. The light was perfect and I couldn't say no.

What do you feel when you look at this photo?

As many of you know, I have become obsessed with photographing beautiful birds. I use the app Merlin Bird ID to help me identify them by their song. A Common Yellowthroat is one that pops up quite often, but I had never been able to spot one let alone get a decent photo. Last weekend I finally found one and it was patient enough to sit still for a photo! Check that one off the list!

Here are the answers from yesterday's post!

Mr Krug (my HS band director and life mentor) asks, What is my best subject to shoot?
Waterfalls. Theyre so full of life and always different with each visit.

Jacob Rose asks if I prefer to shoot in B/w, color or sepia.
It is said that color touches the senses, but b/w touches the soul. I love b/w, except for wildlife and flowers, then its color!

Mrs Plaster asks, how many miles I put on my car a year? I did a 4 year stretch where it was just under 30k miles a year. Nowadays, its closer to 10k miles.

Liza asks, how many shutter clicks a day? I only get out to shoot on weekends, so how about a weekly number. Its appx 500 a weekend.

Amy Elsner asks if ive ever done a shoot on the White River? Not "ON" the river, but i have photographed from the banks a few times.

Lynette Curtis asks my favorite season to shoot? Spring! After long winters of little color, I cannot wait for spring flowers and color.

Vicki Ryman asks for places in N. In to show that IN is more than cornfields.
Well, in that part of the state Id suggest the Dunes!

Michele Gates asks, whats the wildest thing I have ever done for a photo?
Hung over the edge of a 8 story parking garage to take a long exposure of the Circle of Lights. A close second is enduring 40mph winds at the St Joseph lighthouse and getting blasted with sand.

And lastly, Cyndi Coughlin asks for sunset ideas within an hour of Indy?
Welp, Im typically in bed by 8pm, so I dont see many sunsets at all. Id suggest going for a lazy Sunday drive and whenever you see a potential spot, pin it in google maps so you can g*t back and try it. You can also use the PhotoPills app to see where the sun will set to help you gauge if its a good spot.

Thats all. Thank you to everyone who participated!! That was fun!

What do you think, do you like this kind of post? Let me know!

Been wanting to do some q&a posts for all of my followers. So if you have any questions for me that you've been wanting to ask, lets hear them!
Im open to anything. How to achieve a dreamy look, find cool spots, a look inside my camera bag, macro settings, how often I cut my hair, my favorite pizza and ice-cream, my editing process, etc.
I'm an open book, so fire away!

Seems as though I interrupted snack time.
I caught movement out of the corner of my eye as this Cardinal flew into the trees just ahead of me. It took a few seconds, but he finally hopped into a clear spot where my camera could lock focus. It is said that "When a Cardinal appears, an angel is near". Wonder who came to pay me a visit...

All gave some, and some gave all..........
Thank you to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our way of life. May we never take for granted how blessed we truly are.
