Classless Act at Hi-Fi Indianapolis 12-20-22
In early 2022 the band Classless Act was not even on my radar. I went to a club to photograph Joyous Wolf and Classless Act was the opener and I could not believe my ears and eyes! Tonight, although my 3rd time seeing them, I was just as blown away. The band came thundering out like a storm into the Indianapolis club Hi-Fi, where the crowd was sadly light, but performing like they were in a stadium. Classless Act gave us their heart and soul and we gave the love right back to them.
The enthusiasm and energy of this band is infectious. You cannot help but smile, dance and sing along with their catchy tunes! But, they have some very deep lyrics
to go along with those catchy melodies and riffs! The song that touches me the most is “Circles” with lyrics like “Put down your map and make your way to happiness and “Thoughts from a dying man”’s verse: “who’s gonna be there for me when I have no legacy to leave”. But of course there are a lot of rock anthems as well. The band tore it up with their hits like “This is for you” “Classless Act” and “Give it to me”.
This band commanded
the stage with confidence and energy that I have not seen since my time on the Sunset Strip with my beloved hair metal bands!
They owned that tiny Hi-Fi stage, each in their own way, but I need to say that Derek Day is a force to be reckoned with. Even though he is a very talented guitarist he was born to front a band with his outstanding vocals and his energetic stage presence. The other future Rock God in the band is Griffin Tucker. Griffin is a young and super talented guitarist who is poised and wise beyond his years. His playing and his charisma have convinced me that he is 100% going to be listed with the guitar G.O.A.T.’s one day. It’s hard to explain. He just has what so few musicians do…the whole package, the “it factor”. I do however adore the entire, talented band with the gorgeous and charismatic Dane Pieper on rhythm guitar, charming and talented Franco Gravante on bass, and the delightful and adorable Chuck McKissock on drums. These guys are multi talented. We got a delightful encore of the band all switching instruments to play Led Zeppelin’s “Rock-n-Roll. It was the perfect way to end the night because in my opinion Classless Act is the future of rock-n-roll! Make an effort to see them in a club in 2023 while you can still be up close because it’s not gonna be long before you’re watching them from the cheap seats and regretting not seeing them in a club!
