Sunday Traci and I attended an amazing Parkinson walk event (Lucas Strong) at Holly Rec. While there, we ironically sat right under a Chipping Sparrows nest with 3 babies snuggled deep within the walls, only exposing their head when mom and dad brought delicious meals to feed them 🙂.
We ventured back there last night with our cameras in hand and were able to capture some cool feedings and observe what meals were being brought back to feed them. Such a cool experience!

Jamb packed weekend but Traci and I managed to spent a peaceful morning on the dock at Lake Sixteen (Orion Oaks County Park). The Yellow Warblers were aplenty. On the way out captured many other beautiful birds ❤️

Monday morning (Memorial Day) Traci and I ventured to Lake St Clair Metropark. We were really hoping to find some Wood Duck but ended up capturing many other beautiful birds instead. And let’s not forget the mating water snakes we found 🤣

There are a few pictures I still haven’t posted from Traci and I’s trip to Gaylord/Grayling from last weekend. Then, last night, we went to an event at Independence Oaks County Park for a raptor presentation. There were 3 beautiful birds showcased and the guest speakers presented us with a wealth of information about each ❤️

Traci and I captured one of the rarest songbirds in North American!! The elusive Kirtland Warbler!! We drove all the way to Grayling on the tip they were near Hartwick Pines State Park. They nest in the Jack Pines and use the Red Pine needles as their nesting material.

Traci and I got some steps in at
Independence Oaks County Park last night and got some cool shots of an Eastern Phoebe catching food and taking it to a nest under the boardwalk. Saw plenty of others in the marshy watershed.

Traci and I often travel to different destinations for our bird photography trips. But there’s times it’s nice to just sit in a backyard surrounded by loved ones enjoying the bird feeders ❤️
These were taking at Traci’s parents back yard last Friday night. Such a joy watching the birds feed and bath ❤️

These are the rest of the shots Traci and I got walking around this beautiful park Friday morning. There is a really cool looking windmill and a Japanese garden, but like a true bird dork, I only got pictures of my winged friends 😂

Got this shot of an elusive Prothonotary Warbler in Fabyan Forest Preserve, in Illinois Friday Morning! They are so small and fast, like most Warblers, but I managed to grab this shot just before it munched down on that spider.

These are the rest of my pictures after I left Magee Marsh last Saturday. Was lucky to grab a screech owl at Ottawa NWR and some shorebirds at Howard’s Marsh.
