We have had quite a year of ups and downs. We were so excited when we found out we were pregnant in January. Drew also started to walk and found a serious love of trains at the beginning of the year.
The spring and summer found us spending a lot of time outside - biking, walking, swimming and playing. Andrew and Sarah were able to spend 3 days at a conference called TGC. What a blessing to have that time together with each other and many believers. Drew and Sarah enjoyed a quick trip to NY while Andrew traveled for work. We went to see “Big Boy” in Chicago to satisfy the boys and their love of trains.
The most exciting part of our summer was the birth of John Peter (JP), named after Sarah’s dad, in August. He spent 15 days in the NICU before he was able to come home. We cannot say enough how grateful we are for the nurses and doctors that cared for him. We had heard about how NICU nurses are heroes but experiencing it for ourselves gave us a much better appreciation for them. Andrew also lost his grandfather during this time but we’re rejoicing because he is now with his savior.
This fall we have been adjusting to two boys! Drew’s spunky personality is coming out in full force. We’re so thankful for JP’s love of sleep and chill personality - so far. We celebrated Andrew’s 30th by vacationing in Chattanooga where we got to see more trains! We even stayed the night in a passenger car.
After our challenging year we can truly say Joy to the World because Christ came as a baby to save those he has called according to his purpose. Praise God!
