I feel like I’m writing a breakup letter as I type this… but here we go. 💔📸
This may come as a shock...especially if I’ve photographed you year after year...but my page has gotten quiet for a reason. I delivered my last wedding this past weekend and photographed my last family session yesterday. Cue the dramatic sighs… and maybe a secret victory fist pump. ✊😂
After 15+ years, I’m officially hanging up my photography hat. Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to cover it. On one hand, I’m thrilled to finally have my weekends back...no more missing ball games, random family time, kids’ performances, or even my own anniversary (oops 😅). On the other hand, photography has brought me so much joy...seeing my work on your walls and being part of your milestones has been an honor.
There’s no single reason I’m stepping away...just a mix of them. My kids are growing up fast, and I don’t want to miss a single game, performance, or random Tuesday night conversation. Plus, photography technology is always changing, and the thought of spending big bucks on new equipment soon when my heart is already questioning… yeah, no thanks. Add in AI starting to take over the photo world, and I’m officially out. 😅
I’ve found joy in other areas too...homeschooling intentionally, teaching high schoolers at our co-op (they’re awesome!), and being more involved in the homeschool community. And lastly, Dallas has a great job that keeps our family going...but with all his travel, often on short notice, juggling sessions with the kids has become increasingly tricky. Simplifying life just feels right.
To all my clients-turned-friends...thank you! Truly. You’ve trusted me with your memories, made me laugh, and reminded me why I loved this job so much. ❤️
Here’s to new seasons, more family memories, and maybe letting someone else hold the camera for a change. ❤️ I’m happy to recommend some talented photographers I trust if you’re looking for someone to capture your next special moments.
