Hi, I’m Morgan owner + photographer at Root & Wild Imagery here in Ionia, Michigan. I started this business in 2015 (formerly Modern Mi Imagery) with a simple goal: capture real life as it unfolds. The soft moments, the loud ones, the in-between details that often get overlooked. I’m drawn to honest connection, natural movement, and preserving memories that feel true — not posed or forced. Photographing my besties newest little love in the NICU was emotional in a way I didn’t expect especially having walked this road before with my youngest.

The NICU is a place no parent ever hopes to be, but it’s also a place of incredible strength, hope, and literal miracles.

Being trusted to capture these quiet details, these tiny moments & this chapter of their story means more than I can put into words 🫶

20 degree Michigan weather but felt like -4 with the wind chill & trust me.... we felt EVERY bit of it. Frozen fingers, red noses, while it wasn’t comfortable it was sooo worth it.

When the weather isn’t perfect, the moments become more real. Less posing and more candid, intimate moments & those are my favorite moments to photograph.🖤
