I love when I find clients who are just as adventurous as I am. When Kellie reached out about Mikaās senior portraits, they already had their hearts set on the Keweenaw Peninsula. With family ties to the area and countless childhood memories, it just made sense.
We kicked off our five-hour adventure meeting in Lake Linden and made our way south to Jacobsville. After soaking in one of the last beach days of the year, we headed north to Cliff Drive Outlook. If you havenāt been there before, thereās a good reason for it. A big shoutout to the Davisās and their Wrangler - I don't think we couldāve reached the location without it, and the views were absolutely stunning.
Now I'm seriously considering joining the Jeep family ā partly for off-roading to new locations, but mostly for the cute rubber ducks
We continued north towards Eagle River (Michigan's version), where I tried my best to mime instructions to Mika over the sound of rapids and waterfalls, but more than likely embarrassed myself in front of the other tourists. We then stopped at Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, where some spots reminded me of New England coast towns, while others felt straight out of the Pacific NW. The U.P.'s ability to surprise me with new beauty and hidden treasures will never cease to amaze me; Iām so grateful to be able to create in this place and call it home.
We wrapped up with a relaxing blue hour on Copper Harbor's rocky shores. Note to self: invest in water shoes next time. After we finished the session, Brian met up with me (and brought me cheese because heās a very smart man and knew I needed snacks), and we stopped at Brickside Brewery for a pint before going to The Mariner North for dinner - being serenaded by some surprisingly great karaoke, including a rendition of 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,' was just... *yooper chef's kiss.*
Already planning to make this an annual trek. If anyone else is up for a photo adventure, just know that youād be supporting a local photographerās dream of one day owning a Jeep.
