Natalia's last training session was a little bit different than the others. Elementary age and teenage boys can be just as much of a challenge as a baby or toddler. Photoshoots aren't really their idea of fun right? That's why Natalia let them have fun instead of focusing on photos.

They climbed trees, raced up and down the hills and even wrestled a little bit. Once they were having fun and laughing, that's when she took the photos. And they were much more willing then to sit and smile for one or two after they tired themselves out!

And mom hopped in some too so she could get some photos for her business. I love Natalia captured the basic essence of all us business owner moms. Sitting on our laptops, just trying to get some work done while the kids wreak havoc in the background 😂

Natalia also learned that sometimes the littlest guy is the boss of the photoshoot and will only smile when he wants to smile and that you have to let the toddler lead to get the best results. Letting him run and play with his sisters was a great way to capture all the joy and love this family shares. And they even got a few fun shots with their extra kid (the neighbor- aka the little guy's favorite!)

Natalia’s 2nd day of training sessions gave her the opportunity to learn about quickly changing settings as you move from one spot to another. She also did a great job at making photoshoots fun for the littles!

OK STOP!!!!
The day after her training sessions, Natalia met one of her besties at the park because she needed a quick headshot. Natalia took my back up camera and went all on her own, without any help or guidance from me at all. She shot fully manual, got that perfect golden hour light and absolutely blew me away with these!

When she got home she asked if she could upload them right away, so we sat down together and popped the memory card in the computer. My mama heart about bursted right there! I am so incredibly proud of her. She absolutely nailed these. Although it definitely didn't hurt that her subject is an absolute show stopper! This girl is so beautiful, and if you know her at all, you know she's just as beautiful on the inside as well!

Natalia's last training session the other day was this beautiful family of four! Since she had no littles, she didn't have to make silly noises or silly faces or chase them around at all. They stayed put, did the poses she asked and smiled on cue. Well, for the most part. Even adults can have a cheese smily here and there, so we had to make them laugh to get the more genuine smiles. And Natalia even caught some of the in between shots, where they aren't all looking at the camera. Sometimes those ones turn out to be my faves!

I mean, I'm all for her being a special ed teacher, but she definitely has a pretty solid back up plan if she changes her mind. When I started to look up some cap and gown pictures to give her some ideas before she started, she said, "Mom, you just did my own cap and gown photos not that long ago. I got this!" And she sure did!

This guy actually ended up graduating earlier than expected, but mom still wanted to get some cap and gown pics for him. And I'm so glad she decided to get in a few with him too! I think all parents should get in a few pics during a cap and gown session, especially the mamas who are always behind the camera!

Another amazing training session for Natalia!
Once again I warned her, these ages can be tough. And that you have to remember when you are moving from shade to sun and chasing them around, that you also need to think about exposure and where your settings should be.

Then when these guys came, mom said it was a long day and they might be a little cranky. But Natalia brought the fun and energy, and these 2 cuties brought nothing but smiles! And look how amazing these turned out! So many good ones, we had a hard time picking out the sneak peeks💚

YOU GUYS!!! Check out how my kid is about to be better than me soon! Her outdoor training sessions went so well the other day. She's really getting good with the camera and she's already great with kids. Good thing she's my kid and not my competition 😂

Honestly though, this sweet boy made it way too easy on her. He's such a happy little man. I warned her that sometimes this age won't give smiles or might be a little afraid, but he made a complete liar out of me. He was all smiles and sweetness 💙

I always try to warn parents that some babies hate cake smashes. Sometimes they hate getting messy or the cake is too sweet for them, especially if they've never had a taste of cake before!

But this guy here was not one of those babies! He went in head first and then smashed his cake "to bejeezus and back" (as Carl from ATHF would put it) 😂

He was certainly a busy little guy and really wanted to explore, but once we busted out the bubbles and then the cake he decided he'd sit and play along with the whole photoshoot thing!

So glad I got to see him again and capture his 1st birthday photos! ONE year sure did fly by ✈️
