Got a chance to check out the tasting room space at South Hill Cider for their Farmhouse Cider release party. Wonderful space with a great homegrown ambiance and some amazing cider braised pork by the always fabulous Heather Sandford. Come on up to the tasting room this afternoon for the very first Fried Chicken Sunday with music, chicken, and plenty of fresh apple slaw. Fun starts at 3:30!

Ithaca Acapella Quartet AFAB4 had their very first full length concert on October 28th at Alley Cat Cafe in Ithaca. The group began as an offshoot within the Ithaca Gay Men's Chorus and is comprised of four transgender artists who celebrate the variety of tone and artistry of transgender and gender nonconforming vocals. They shared their personal stories throughout the night and invited any transgender or gender nonconforming individuals present to join them onstage and sing.

Here's to many more concerts ahead and growth for this spirit of representation in an often heavily gendered world of acapella.

It was a joy to experience and photograph the inaugural Qinfolk Festival, a brand new festival aiming to showcase the art and experiences of Q***r and Trans People of Color and to make space for them to share their art and lived experiences. Local and traveling artists filled two galleries with a wide variety of art including paintings, multimedia pieces, and projection and installation work. A third performance space showcased music and dance works as well. Cinemopolis showed a series of short films by artists as well and workshops offering a safe place for QTPOC to communicate and process as well as educational resources for those seeking to ally themselves with the community were scheduled throughout the day.
