Just a montage of some of my favorite eats from last season for all my fellow foodies because if we’re being real, the food is one of the best parts of a wedding day.

A note for my summer and fall couples-

Because this winter was especially warm and we had low snow across the West, wildfire smoke may be a more likely factor on wedding days this season.

What that can mean in the Tetons-
hazier skies, lower mountain visibility, and a warmer cast in photos.

If smoke rolls in, the biggest thing is adjusting expectations. We will still create beautiful images, but the mountains may look softer, lighter, hazier, or partially hidden.

A few tips for wildfire smoke:

-Go easy on bronzer and consider going a shade lighter on spray tans if you can. Smoke already adds warmth to the scene, and extra warmth in makeup can read more orange on camera.

-Stay flexible with photo locations and timing. Sometimes the best approach is leaning into cleaner backgrounds, closer portraits, and moments over big scenic views. Often times we will try to head closer to the mountains by going into the park to have better Teton visibility as opposed to locations more pulled back from the mountains.

-For sensitive groups, if smoke is heavy, prioritize comfort too. Try to limit long outdoor stretches, especially for elderly guests, kids, or anyone with asthma or breathing issues.

Even if the mountains decide not to fully show up, we will still capture honest, beautiful photos of your day

The photos above are from some of our more smoky days this past wedding season

One of my favorite weddings this past summer at one of my favorite cozy venues in Jackson Hole, the Bentwood Inn. After 17 years together, these two chose to begin their next chapter in a place layered with family history for the bride. The joy was truly palpable throughout the entire day.
