Grizzly bear, face-first in flowers.

They call him Bruno. A big male who dominates the landscape in Grand Teton. Here he is, nose deep in the wildflowers, biting the heads off cow parsnip like it’s his job. And it is — this is what grizzly summer looks like. A giant eating his greens, packing on the pounds before winter.

Evening in the meadow. An Alaskan brown bear. A mouthful of green, the last hour of sun. Then that stare—level, unhurried, straight through you. To sit quietly with a creature like this, to share a few minutes of his ordinary life—it gives you something you didn’t know you needed. As you can tell from our whispers, we couldn’t contain our excitement. 😂

A brown bear digs for clams while sunlight glitters across the Alaska mud flats. A scene we’d only ever dreamed of — a bear, a gull, a thousand points of light. Some mornings you just say thank you.
