Yesterday my son competed in his first surf competition at the NFL ESA Surf Competition. I was so stinking proud of him. He's only been surfing for two weeks and hadn't been on a board before this. He's only six-years-old! His buddy, is five-years-old and quite the little ripper already! I had an absolute blast capturing these groms yesterday. To see these kids compete with such confidence and have so much fun doing so is a tremendous tribute to their kick ass coach . Motes is a legend in the surfing world. He's also the most humble human I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The moment I met him I knew why Mike hadn't stopped talking about him since his first surf lesson with him two years ago! Motes is the real deal and the way he mentors these groms is awe inspiring. I am totally that mom cheering on all of these kids as if they were my own just like my own mother did when I used to race. I may miss a couple of shots here and there because I am crying such big happy tears for each one of them. Thank you for welcoming our family into your community and taking our under your wing. Hello and welcome. Allow me to introduce myself. I started out as a wedding photographer fresh out of photo school. That was before Instagram even existed! That was also the time that this very passion put food on my table. It sustained me during my divorce to my first husband and continued to allow me to grow into the extreme humble human I am today. I am absolutely in love with my husband and believe that it was fate that brought us back together in order to start our family. I am a mother to two amazing boys. They are my world. I was an educator before I became a mom. I completed my master's program at Shady Hill School in Cambridge, Ma. I have taught just about every single subject to every single age group and yet my children teach me something new every single day. I have OCD and anxiety. I am 170 days sober. I practice yoga every single day to keep my anxiety and sobriety in check. I was born with bilateral hip dysplasia. I started running when I was five-years-old and ran the Boston Marathon in 2006. I was a collegiate sprinter and I also played rugby for a very short lived stint. I was raised by a single mother who raised three girls on less than $12/hour working at the local supermarket. I am an adult orphan at the age of 40. I am an old soul. I know all of the words to "Ride Like the Wind" by Christopher Cross. Listening to live music always overwhelms me to tears. I am an extreme empath. I was born and raised in Newburyport, Ma. I volunteered for the first le***an mayoral candidate during her campaign in Newbuyrport when I was in high school. I was a middle school humanities teacher. I was a political science undergrad major with a minor in legal studies. I was accepted to law school and never regret the choice I made to defer that acceptance and later go into teaching. What's your story? We all have a story and I hope that I get an opportunity to capture a piece of yours for you to share with the world. In the meantime remember this: I am an ally. I am anti-racist. I stand up for social justice. I believe in inclusive multicultural education.

My first ever commissioned pup sunrise session. Loved every minute with these two sweethearts. Their bond is beyond magical and my heart was full being able to capture these moments for Nikki to treasure with her little Miss Abby forever. 📸😬💖👌🏻

I came across my first ever digital camera. I then treated myself to the Canon 24mm f2.8 lens. I managed to use my son’s nightstand as a tripod. Magic happened. My favorite part was when I showed him this photo and he exclaimed, “How’d you do this while I was sleeping?!”
Not only am I Santa I’m a photo ninja now. I’m def stepping up my magic game this 2020. Big things. Who’s with me for this amazing ride?! 📸💖💁🏼‍♀️

It always brings my heart the greatest joy seeing a dad so loved by his children. MK certainly is and that love radiates. I’m the lucky one that gets to capture for him to treasure this moment, always.
