I’ve started and stopped writing this more times than I can count, but if I’m going to begin again, I want to begin honestly.
The past year changed me in ways I’m still learning how to put into words. I stepped away from photography and from so many people I care about because my mental health needed more of me than I knew how to give. I became quiet. I withdrew. And while I was trying to find my way back to myself, I know there were clients and friends who felt forgotten, disappointed, or let down by me.
If you were one of those people, I am genuinely sorry.
I carry a great deal of guilt about the messages I didn’t answer, the things I struggled to follow through on, and the ways my absence may have affected people who trusted me. I cannot change that chapter, and I don’t want to hide from it. What I can do is take responsibility for it, learn from it, and move differently from here.
If my absence affected you personally, whether you felt forgotten, hurt, or left with something unresolved, please reach out to me privately. I want the opportunity to listen, understand what happened from your side, and find a meaningful and reasonable way to make things right. I may not be able to undo every hurt, but I genuinely want to repair what I can. I don’t want anyone to feel as though they were simply left behind while I moved forward.
Right now, I’m navigating single life for the first time in ten years while raising five children. Life is tender, unfamiliar, messy, and sometimes completely overwhelming but I am doing so much better. I’m rebuilding my life from the ground up, and somewhere along the way, I realized I wanted to rebuild my photography business too.
Not by pretending the difficult year never happened. Not by returning as the exact person I was before. But by creating something more honest, intentional, and sustainable from everything I’ve learned.
XO Miranda Danielle is becoming Miranda Danielle Collective.
This new chapter will still hold the heart people have always known in my work, but it will also come with clearer communication, dependable systems, firm turnaround times, thoughtful boundaries, and a client experience I can consistently stand behind. I am putting the structure in place to make sure the promises I make are promises I can keep.
I won’t be taking on more than I can carry. I won’t allow pressure to push me into overbooking. And I won’t disappear when life becomes difficult. I’m learning that doing business with heart also means communicating clearly, protecting my capacity, and being honest about what I can deliver.
I’m not asking anyone to forget the past or immediately place their trust in me again. I understand that trust is rebuilt through actions one conversation, one promise, and one beautifully completed gallery at a time. I genuinely want to make things better for the people who have supported me and to build something that feels good and trustworthy for everyone involved.
To everyone who has continued to believe in me, check on me, share my work, or quietly wait for me to return...thank you. Your grace has meant more than you know.
This is not simply a new name or a prettier website. It is a new foundation.
Welcome to Miranda Danielle Collective.
Photographs that remember how it felt.
