A bride has never said, “I regret doing a bo***ir session.”

Not once.

I’ve heard brides say they were nervous or that they almost talked themselves out of it.

But I’ve never heard a bride say she wished she hadn’t done it.

Somewhere between getting engaged and walking down the aisle, there is this really special season of life that deserves to be celebrated too.

Everyone talks about the wedding day. They talk about the dress and the flowers and the venue.

But this season isn’t just about becoming someone’s wife.

It’s also about you standing at the beginning of a new chapter learning to see yourself in a new way.

The woman who is excited, nervous, hopeful, and dreaming about everything that’s ahead.

Yes, your album will make an incredible gift, and yes, your fiance will probably lose their mind when they see it 😏

But it’s really about taking a moment in the middle of all the planning and all the giving to celebrate yourself too.

Years from now when you look back at your wedding photos, you’ll remember the day.

Something we talk a lot about during planning is who you are, what you love, what type of things do you enjoy. And I don’t mean the version of that question you get asked at networking events or when you’re introducing yourself to someone new.

I mean YOU.

What are the things that make you lose track of time?
The things you look forward to. The things you do that still feel like yours after you’ve spent all day taking care of everyone else.

And it’s funny how often there’s a pause. Not because they don’t have an answer. But because nobody has asked them in a really long time.

We love to help you incorporate the things you love into your session!
Someone tells us about the stack of books on their nightstand or they light up talking about the music they blast when nobody’s home. Sometimes it’s a hobby they haven’t made enough time for lately, and sometimes it’s something so simple they’ve never considered it important enough to mention before.

And suddenly we aren’t just planning a photoshoot anymore. We’re uncovering pieces of who they are.

So much of our identity lives in the little things we do every day. We just stop noticing them because they become normal.

A bo***ir session has a funny way of bringing those pieces back to the surface. Not just the way you look. But the things that make you feel like yourself.

Sometimes self discovery doesn’t happen because you’re searching for something new.

One of the things we hear all the time is: “Well... I’m not married,” or “I’m not seeing anyone to do this for.”

And every time, we’re like girrrrrrrrrrll 😏

Because somewhere along the way, bo***ir got labeled as something you do for someone else.
Like it’s ONLY supposed to be tucked away as a wedding gift or a surprise waiting to be unwrapped by somebody else.

But what I wish more women knew is that it always always always ends up being more of a gift for yourself.

We’ve photographed women in every season of life. The season where they’re figuring out who they are. Maybe they’re healing. Maybe they’re starting over. Maybe they’re simply realizing they’ve spent so much time taking care of everyone else that they’ve forgotten what it feels like to pour that energy back into themselves.

That’s where the magic usually happens. Not when someone else sees the photos. When YOU see them. When you catch yourself saying, “Who IS sheeeee?!” That’s the gift.

Not the photos. The confidence you leave with. No man required. 🤍

One of our favorite parts of this whole experience is the reveal.

At the beginning of the session, so many women are nervous. You’re worried about how you’ll pose, if you’ll like anything, if you’re “photogenic,” all the things. And I get it because you’ve probably spent years being your own biggest critic (girl we all do it).

Then reveal time comes.

And suddenly you’re sitting there going,
“Oh my god I love that one.”
“Wait… no, I LOVE this one.”
“How am I supposed to choose?!”

And in the midst of all that, I get to see you see YOURSELF differently.

You stop looking at yourself through the lens of insecurity and start seeing you the way WE see you.

Not perfection.
Just you. Confident. Beautiful. Alive.

That’s why I’ll never believe bo***ir is just about taking pretty photos.

Confidence doesn’t magically appear one day out of nowhere. It’s built in little moments like this, where you finally allow yourself to see your own beauty instead of immediately tearing yourself apart.

Getting to watch that happen for women over and over again will never stop being our favorite part of this work 🤍

The rebuilding season.
The becoming season.
The healing season.
The “I’m finally choosing myself” season.

Somewhere between diaper changes, school drop offs, snack requests, laundry piles, and keeping tiny humans alive…

A lot of moms quietly stop asking themselves one very important question:

“What do I enjoy?”

Not what your kids love.
Not what your partner wants.
Not what needs to get done.

Because motherhood changes you… but it was never meant to erase you.
