A few weeks ago at a trade show, a talented photographer pulled me aside and asked how to grow his sales. I asked him one simple question back: what does your sales process look like? He looked at me like I had three heads.
Here's the thing. He wasn't short on talent. He'd just never been handed a process. That's the real reason most photographers stay stuck.
You do not have to become a pushy salesperson to double your sales. You need a system you can actually follow. Here are the five steps:
1. Pick your dream clients. Stop marketing to everyone. Choose the 50 to 100 leagues, schools, and studios that would truly move your revenue.
2. Pin down your number. "Double my sales" is a wish. Work backward from your goal to the exact number of new accounts you need, and it becomes a plan.
3. Provide value first. Don't pitch. Lead with something useful, like how a well-run picture day can put real money back into a league. That's serving, not selling.
4. Persist with a cadence. One email isn't outreach. A simple, planned sequence keeps you in front of the right people without ever pestering them.
5. Protect the relationship. "We already have a photographer" is rarely a no. It's a "not now." Stay kind, stay in touch, and be there when the door opens.
None of it asks you to be someone you're not. It just asks you to follow the steps.
On Wednesday, July 29 at noon ET, I'll walk you through the whole system live and free. Save your seat: https://psu.circle.so/double-your-sales
