Hurricane Helene hit our area pretty hard. We were just out of reach of major damage - our most problematic thing was being without power for 34 hours. And that is a long time - but it’s nothing compared to all those who lost homes and businesses.

I was quite fascinated to see how metal prints fared - and this blog has some impressive pictures. Metal prints are AMAZING! The metal prints are near the top of this article.

We've been checking in on photographers in our community who have been affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, and the responses have been eye opening. Back to school photos of my kiddos. I LOVE how these turned out - and they’re going to make a fabulous display all printed on metal - my favorite way to print for walls.

Me: editing my kids’ back to school pictures.
Jared (5): “you know, Mom…..it doesn’t HAVE to be perfect.”
Me: “well that’s sweet of you to say - but that’s what photographers do when we edit. I promise I won’t make any major changes, ok? Just some little fixes to make this picture of you just right. Take a look - what do you think?”
Jared: “Woah Mom…..that picture is the best perfect I ever SEEN!”

You know what kid? I agree - this picture is perfect - especially the missing front tooth.

And yes - this is one of half a zillion I took of just this kid who kept making faces - but all at once it was perfect. And this is why I don’t buy school photos - I always take them myself. I am curious to see how he does with school picture day (his first time!) in a couple weeks - but this picture is all him - all perfect.

If anyone wants to book back to school photos just let me know! The website booking isn’t working the way I want it to - so it looks like it’s down - but I’m taking jobs for back to school photos.

I did it!! I created a Halloween themed backdrop!! It just went live today.

I may have several Christmas drops - but I’m extra proud of coming up with a Halloween one since I usually just want to skip that particular holiday. I was especially going for something spooky but not scary and not to childish - something that you could use as a backdrop for a Halloween photo booth for an event like a turn-or-treat.

Also - Ai generated jack-o’-lanterns are pretty creepy and weird. Looooots of photoshop was needed for decent looking pumpkin faces.
