The getting ready portion of a wedding day can result in some of the most candid and emotional moments, making it a wonderful opportunity for capturing beautiful photographs.

Here are some tips to brides that will allow us to document this exciting part of the day!

Whenever possible, choose a well-lit and spacious room for the bridal party to get ready. Natural light creates soft and flattering images.

Keep the Space Tidy: A cluttered room can distract from the emotions and details.

If you are planning on having a first look with the groom, consider also having a first look with your parents or bridesmaids as well. These reactions can be equally moving!

Groom spotlight time! Two years ago we were able document this groom's dad as he walked down the aisle with his long-time soulmate. Recently, we also got the honor to document their first born walking down the aisle with his sweetheart. Thank you Joan + Diana for allowing us to be part of your special day!

Having the opportunity to capture both father and son both as grooms on their wedding day was an amazing experience!

First dances...one of of our favorite moments to capture as they are full of emotions. In this wedding, our beautiful bride did not only have a first dance with her father, but what a an emotional moment it was to capture her first dance with her two sons as well.

This is your reminder to have your engagement photo session during golden hour. Well, technically, we would start your session roughly 45 mins earlier than golden hour, so we can get you comfortable in front of our cameras, getting you warm up for all the fun we would have, and Stuard would start his set of jokes to get all those "laugh til your stomach hurts" moments in your photos.

is an understatement. The amount of clothes we have changed during that time is insane, Leilani only wants to cuddle, giving us no time to do anything at all. You have no idea how long ago I started writing this caption today.

But in the middle of all of this, I am thankful we have three beautiful girls, thankful for the opportunity of cleaning up after them, thankful for all the struggles and all the times we have to wake up at night to assist them during this process, this is all temporary, very often as parents we need to understand this, and give ourselves grace to deal with all of these unexpected events in our families, and embrace this as part of our journey as well.
