American Goldfinch eating the seeds from Coneflowers. I never deadhead flowers, as they provide valuable food and energy to the critters that come into my backyard. I know my garden doesn't look neat, but I anyway grow everything for the critters, not for myself!

Mocking birds have colorful personalities that belie their grey, white and brown variegation. They are delightful singers, copying and mimicking the birds, frogs and insects around them. They trill, rasp, twitter, chirp and whistle in melodious renderings, making a very pleasant and entertaining amphitheater of my backyard. They are fearless and will come close to me and eat from the feeders staring right at me! these images are a flamboyant display of their ability to defend their turf against another so called intruder😀

Portraits of Yellow Gladioli- The gladiolus flower is named for its swordlike leaves.
It is interesting to see how the background changes the look of the same flower- it changes the intensity of the color, the light on it, its composition, and the emotion you feel. I merely moved around the flower. And of course, rain drops adds its own magnificence. So glad that Atlanta is receiving so much rain!
