My wife and I hiked a few miles and gained about 3000 elevation earlier the day I took this shot. The crazy late sunset hour was already tiring, plus we were both exhausted after the long hike. So I was promising myself I deserve a cheat day chilling out in the hotel room instead of standing in some freezing river 10pm in the night. Obviously that plan didn’t turn out good and I still found myself chewing a protein bar standing in the wilderness in the middle of the night miserably . I found it’s a typical thing for a landscape photographer to promise him/herself that he/she would just sleep in but end up going out anyway. Well that’s the time when the great shots were usually taken. Stupid O’clock.
