One thing I wish every couple knew about wedding day timelines…

Everything takes a little longer than you think. 🤍

Getting into your dress.

Buttoning 100 tiny buttons.

Finding Dad for the first look.

Getting everyone together for bridesmaid photos.

Walking from one location to another.

Touching up lipstick.

Someone running back inside because they forgot their bouquet. 😂

None of these things are a big deal.

Until your timeline has absolutely NO wiggle room.

I would much rather build an extra 10 or 15 minutes into different parts of your day and have you actually get a chance to breathe.

Because your wedding day should not feel like one giant race from one thing to the next.

Some of my favorite photos happen in those little pockets of time when nobody is rushing.

You laugh with your bridesmaids.

You hug your mom.

You take a second to look around and realize…

I'M GETTING MARRIED TODAY.

Give yourself time.

You will never regret having a little too much of it.

Your wedding morning doesn’t have to feel rushed. 🤍

One of the biggest things I tell my couples when we’re working on their wedding day timeline is this:

Give yourself MORE time than you think you need.

Wedding mornings have a funny way of moving really fast.

Hair takes a little longer than expected.
Someone can’t find an earring.
A bridesmaid needs help with her dress.
Mom disappears right when we need her. 😂
Someone realizes the bouquets are still downstairs.

None of these things are a big deal… unless your timeline is packed so tightly that there’s no room for them.

I would much rather build an extra 15–20 minutes into your morning and have you sitting there completely ready than have you rushing into your dress while everyone is watching the clock.

Because that extra time?

That’s when some of my favorite photos happen.

Mom helping with the last button.
Your best friend fixing your veil.
Dad seeing you for the first time.
You standing in front of the mirror realizing, “Oh my gosh… I’m getting married.”

Those moments deserve time too.

Your wedding day goes by SO fast. You shouldn’t spend the morning feeling like you’re already behind.

Build in the breathing room.

And if everything runs perfectly?

Great.

You just gave yourself 20 extra minutes to slow down, take it all in and actually enjoy your wedding morning. 🤍

One of my FAVORITE parts of a wedding day happens right after the ceremony.
And most couples don’t even realize I’m photographing it.
You just got married.
Like…
ACTUALLY MARRIED. 🤍
You walk back down the aisle.
Everyone is cheering.
You get around the corner or through the doors and suddenly it hits you.
WE DID IT.
There’s usually a huge hug.
A kiss.
Laughing.
Sometimes crying.
Sometimes the bride looks at me like, “OH MY GOSH, WE'RE MARRIED!” 😂
Then your people start finding you.
Mom hugs you.
Dad hugs you.
Your wedding party is celebrating.
Grandma is crying.
Everyone is excited.
And I’m watching ALL OF IT.
Because wedding photography isn't only about the big planned moments.
Sometimes my favorite photographs happen 30 seconds AFTER the moment everyone planned.
You weren't posing.
You weren't thinking about my camera.
You were just feeling everything.
THOSE are the moments I never want you to forget.
So after your ceremony…
Don't worry about me.
Go celebrate.
I'll find the moments. 🤍📸

One tiny wedding day tip that can save you a LOT of stress…

Give your phone to someone you trust. 🤍

Your maid of honor.

Your sister.

Your mom.

Someone who knows the important people and can answer questions for you.

Because you don't need to spend your wedding morning answering:

"What time do we need to be there?"

"Where do I park?"

"Where are the flowers?"

"Do you know where Grandma is?"

Nope. 😂

You have ONE job.

Get married.

Let somebody else handle the little fires.

The texts can wait.

The emails can wait.

Instagram can wait.

Be where your feet are.

This day goes way too fast to spend it staring at your phone. 🤍

I have ONE very important piece of advice for your ceremony…
HOLD. THAT. KISS. 😂💋
You’ve waited all day.
Actually—you’ve probably waited months or YEARS for this moment.
You hear…
“You may kiss…”
And then some couples give each other the fastest little peck in wedding history. 😂
Give me a second!
I promise I’m ready.
But holding that kiss for just a tiny bit longer gives me time to capture the moment beautifully.
And while we’re talking about it…
Kiss AGAIN at the end of the aisle!
You’re married.
Your guests are cheering.
Everyone is smiling.
You’re walking back down the aisle together for the first time as a married couple.
STOP.
KISS.
CELEBRATE.
Those photos are SO MUCH FUN.
You only get one first kiss as a married couple.
Make it a good one. 🤍
