A few months ago, I had the privilege of capturing the sweetest surprise proposal for Chris and Brigette 🤍

I’ve done many proposals in the past, but this one was definitely one of my favorites. What made this particular session even more special, were the beautiful leis that Chris had bought beforehand. Beautiful leis, beautiful sunset, and an incredibly beautiful love between these two. I love love 🥹🥹
It was overall just a perfect proposal, I hope these photos reflect that 🤍

The cutest lil Mokoli’i tattoo in front of Mokoli’i itself 💕😌

(Commonly referred to as “Chinaman’s Hat” due to its distinct shape of a traditional straw hat worn in China)

Have you ever paddled out to Mokoli’i island? If not, I definitely recommend making a trip out, the view from the top is sooo breathtaking and really makes you appreciate east side and O’ahu in a whole new light ✨🏝️

Can we offer each other a little grace? This life is hard for all of us.

If you are struggling with your mental health, remember that you are never alone. Being mentally ill can feel isolating, vulnerable, and lonely, but know that there ARE others who feel, think, function the same way as you. There ARE people who can understand, and there are also people who are willing to try to understand. Find those people and keep them close. It takes a lot of courage to be vulnerable, but it is 100% essential for EVERYONE (yes, even you reading this) to share the weight of their burdens. We can only go so long holding all that weight on our own. No one is meant to go through this life alone. The first (and most difficult) step of recovery is reaching out.

If someone you love is struggling with their mental health, check in on them. Tell them you love them, and say it often. Be with them. Even if it means sitting in a dark room in silence. Even if it means washing their dirty dishes. Even if it requires learning about the ugly parts of their past. Even if it takes work, effort, time, and energy. Isn’t that the true meaning of unconditional love? To support those you love, through both the good and bad?

Everyone is facing battles you know nothing about. Your words and actions impact people more than you know. Be kind always and to everyone.

And most importantly, take care of yourself. I love you
