This photo is on the Quilcene River in the Olympic Natl Forest shot with my Canon camera. The funny part is that there is so much color and contrast that I had to turn both down in my photo software. I've never had to do that with a landscape photo before. When you see the previous photo I posted you can see how contrasty it was straight out of my cell camera. This is the only shot I took and kept yesterday and we may not take more for a couple of days. We're here baby sitting a 3 year old 2 of the weekends we're here.

The photo below was taken on my cell phone near Quilcene Washington in the Olympic National Forest north of Seattle. I had my good camera and intended to take the photo again with it on the hike back but forgot. I haven't been able to hike much this summer but will be here for 3 weeks. Still ahead, next week Whale watching at Friday Harbor, an island north of Olympic Natl Park and on the Pacific beach in a cabin on an Indian Reservation the 2nd week. Excited to explore as much as I can and get back to the sharing I love to do. I do have a river photo I plan to post later from yesterdays hike.

Kansas has wild horses. Most people don't know but I have photographed them for the last few years. Just south of Kansas City in Cassoday KS, 7000 horses on 60,000 acres. I hadn't been back in 2 years but Jillian and I went to one of our favorite events, Symphony in the Flinthills. Listening/watching the Kansas City symphony live at sunset on a different thousand acre ranch each year. This year the ranch was near the wild horses so we stopped on the way home the next morning. These horses are at one of my favorite spots, Teeterville, Ks, an old abandoned oil boom town from the 1800's. Notice that BLM (Gov't) horses have tattoos on their left neck and rump. These 2 started off friendly but got rowdy with each other.

This fawn is 18 days old now. Yesterday he/she ran wild and played in the meadow behind the house. It was a great chance to get more pictures and fun watching it explore its new world.

This little fawn was born on 6/02/24 at Jillian's place. The photo behind the log is when it was 3 days old. The other is at 2 weeks old. I haven't posted for such a long time, but, this weekend I went to my 55th high school class reunion. Many people commented about my photos and recent lack of them. So here is something from the last 2 weeks. Jillian and I loved the reunion with all my high school friends.

Four decades of photography have taught me one invaluable lesson: Beauty resides in the simplest of things. From the delicate dance of a butterfly to the majestic flight of a bird, there is a profound connection between us and the natural world.
