So one of my fave questions I get asked before a session with a musician is “Can I bring my instrument?” & my answer is always 100000% yes. I’m not gonna lie yall it has taken me a longggg time to find poses I love for musician + instrument portraits but I’m finally feeling more comfortable finding creative ways to incorporate an instrument into a portrait without it feeling too pose-y or just plain awkward.

Would love to see some new faces in the studio. Musicians tell yo music hommies to hit my line 😏📸💃🏽

Crazy how it’s only been a few months and at the end of the month we’re tackling ANOTHER album cover. just can’t stop releasing new music! Beyond excited to get started on this new era with even better visuals.

Recently I’ve been catching up & developing film from years ago. It’s insane to reflect & admire the moments in time I captured from when I was younger. These photos were taken on my west coast road trip from Cali through Seattle. This was such a transitional time in my life, new friends, new partner, new job, & new places. Amongst the chaos & anxieties of new beginnings, this trip helped to cut through the noise & remind me of all the beautiful memories that come from doing something new. Missing that intoxicating west coast breeze & sun right about now.
Manifesting for more trips, clarity, & warmth this year ✨

An outstanding mother, an unwavering friend, a hardworking creative running her own business, a badass bass player, a black women stepping into her power: the list could go on & on. Got the extreme honor of running the stills department for a Taco Bell spot last year. It was almost 100 degrees this day but somehow the talent kept the energy on 10 the whole day. This was such an exciting project to be a part of after I swallowed my imposter syndrome . Loving that I can still feel the high energy & stomping feet in all of these photos still. Very excited to see what opportunities 2022 brings. YA GIRL HAS GONE COMMERCIAL 🤩😇

For me portrait photography is the art of capturing someone’s true essence & energy in a specific moment in time & I think we pulled that off quite well with these photos.

A few cinematic stills from my first meeting/shoot with .n . These photos were taken at Pikes Place & as I comb through old photos like this, I begin to feel nostalgic about my time in Seattle. It’s almost been 1 year since moving back to Kansas City, & that’s insane for me to even think about. So much changes in a blink of an eye. I’m thankful that I have photos to remember the good times, people, and experiences that Seattle once gave me.

Katy G & the Drive (2021)

Here are 2 of my favorite shots from my shoot with . Learning how to become less stiff on shoots as I begin to push myself out of my comfort zone by trying new poses, angles, compositions, etc. After doing this for 6 years, sometimes it becomes easy to fall into habit, doing the same things that you know for a fact will look good. But I’m learning how to take risks, and trust me, some shots definitely don’t come out looking too hot, but some of them come out looking like this, and I can’t complain 🤩🥰.

The music they are capable of making together puts you in a groove you never wanna step out of. this simple gel lighting setup allowed us to create a soft yet vibrant retro dreamland for the boys to pose in.
