Another success story for Project DEER and the hunter. He was still alive on the first locate and surrounded by coyotes. Figured they would get him as we assumed this was a gut shot. Hunter stalked in the next morning but the buck was gone. I came back out that afternoon and relocated him. He was nowhere close to where we first found him. Without the drone, he would likely have never been found.

Last couple weeks have been a blur. So many crazy stories that I hope to tell in the future. This recovery was insane....

Last night I located this buck, still alive. I came back out this morning and found him again, but still alive but clearly in a bad way. The hunter and his brother put together a plan to try and get another arrow in him and the plan worked out perfectly.

Things don't alway go right, but I commend the hunters commitment to ensuring this buck wasn't left to suffer

This one took me a while tonight, but we found him for the hunter. These are some tough creatures. The shot seems good, likely hit the off shoulder so no pass through but surely had to hit something vital. Nearly 12 hours post shot, he's still alive. Hopefully he will expire over night.

Made quick work on this buck. Less than 3 minutes of flight time, most of which was just getting to the search area. ...
