Hey, I'm Courtney! I'm a firm believer I am not for everyone. I can be loud, goofy, and borderline ridiculous. I say what I think and mean what I say. I am too much for many. That's okay, they can go find less.

Getting to know my clients and your unique stories is my favorite part of the job. When it comes to my work I'm a fan of the funky and fun. I love trying new things in composition and tec

I want to work with people that have cool products, companies, and are just badass to be around. My goal is to create a voice and tone that match your style - be it personal for weddings, portraits or brand continuity for products and commercial work. I co-own an advertising and marketing agency (2A Marketing), and many of the brand principles we developed there carry into Stag & Bird. While I'm now out of the day-to-day functions at 2A to focus my energy on creating, I make sure to run this business in the same way: No bu****it, no unnecessary fluff with a lot of heart, talent and love for what I do. With that I create imagery that tells a story and spotlights the important stuff while maintaining an easy-going but consistent and professional photography firm. Fun, random facts: I love cactus. I struggle to keep succulents alive and when my grandma died she left her babies to me. Unfortunately I killed them all, so I have them tattooed on my arm instead. Sorry, Grandma. I also love tattoos, motorcycles, CrossFit, my boys and my dreadlock hair. I have a couple kids and a partner that race motocross and BMX, and love that lifestyle. Beep beep, who's got the keys to the jeep!? Varooom. Unironically, does in fact have a sick Jeep.

Branding photos shouldn't be drab and boring unless you're drab and your business is boring.

Even if you *think* it is, we can make it feel the opposite.

Branding photos and fun, funky, fresh imagery that look as alive as you want your clients to feel.

I talk with my clients about holding their boundaries all the time and yesterday I realized I've not been enforcing mine well.

A confirmed Sunday evening, Father's Day discovery appointment got no showed. I have the read receipts and confirmations. It was supposed to be a day focused just on my family and my husband, but I had to arrange family's day around what my work schedule allowed.

And although I may not be naïve, I was still seated at my desk prepping for a phone call that would never happen.

That's not just on this potential Client, that's on me for offering this time in the first place.

I'm tired of this happening on my weekends. So effective now, Stag & Bird Photo will no longer accept phone consults or meetings on Saturday or Sunday. If you already have something on the books, nothing changes.

But going forward, discovery calls and consults will only be done Monday through Friday during business hours.

It's real hard to teach how to enforce boundaries from a place where you're not enforcing your own.

Looking forward to connecting (during the regular work week).

Can I be honest? I'm gonna be honest and open here: I don't know how to best post about Juneteenth.

I like to think I'm seasoned enough to say I absolutely support our friends of color and honor the premise of the day: Juneteenth is a time to honor Black history, celebrate freedom, and reflect on the ongoing fight for civil rights and racial equality in the United States.

I also know and recognize it is my responsibility to educate myself on Juneteenth- it is not up to my black friends to have to tell me what I can or should do to show support, so I'm kind of winging it here with the knowledge I have.

We are so far from equality. This country was built on the backs of enslaved people and somehow most of us today have benefited from the terrible atrocities that happened to these people, if only indirectly at best.

I just want everyone scrolling to know that at Stag & Bird we stand beside you and with you: regardless of ethnicity, color, creed or orientation. You are welcome and are with us. We recognize the significant, ongoing harm caused by systemic racism and historical inequities in our communities. We’re committed to changing that by listening, learning and changing to build a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable culture; and by becoming a stronger, more effective advocate and partner in dismantling inequitable systems.

But today, today we celebrate our melanated friends and their many accomplishments, culture and livelihoods.
