✨️ The future Mr. and Mrs. Popkowski ✨️

Spending an evening with these two in the Rice village area was nothing short of magical. We managed to avoid all large crowds by tucking away on a back street, allowing us to capture their genuine love without any major distraction. But I'm convinced that they wouldn't have even noticed anyone else there because they were so focused on each other! 🥹

While there may have been some questions of "will I look awkward?", or "where do I put my hands?", I was able to jump right in and create an experience that allowed them to be fully present. And by the end, we all were talking about just how much fun the evening was together!

Cannot wait to capture their wedding day story. Here's to the future Popkowski fam! 🤍

I have a feeling this won’t surprise anyone, but I’m pretty convinced I’m going to be a boat dad one day.

There’s just something about being on the water that changes everything. The pace slows down, conversations feel easier, and the noise of the day kind of fades into the background.

And honestly, that’s the same feeling I’m always trying to create during a session.

Not something rushed. Not something overly posed. Just space to be present, to enjoy each other, and to actually experience what you’re in.

This evening in Dallas felt a lot like that. Out on the water, the light softened, the movement slowed, and for a second it felt like nothing else mattered.

Those are the moments I’m always looking for. The ones that feel like real life, just a little more intentional.

So yes, one day I’ll absolutely be out there with a boat, probably insisting everyone takes a sunset ride…

But until then, I’ll keep building sessions that feel like this.

If that sounds like your kind of pace, I’d love to create something like it with you 🤍

At the beginning of a wedding day, I’m not rushing in with a camera.

I’m stepping into your space, meeting your people, soaking in the energy of the morning, and getting a feel for what the day already holds.

Then, for a little while, I disappear. Not in a mysterious way… just in a “give me a minute, I’m about to make something beautiful” kind of way.

I gather the pieces you’ve chosen with intention. Your shoes, your florals, the textures and details that quietly set the tone. And then I start building. It's my creative warm-up, but honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts of the day. Because these details aren’t just things.

Details are the opening chapter of your wedding story. And when I give them the time and care they deserve, you walk away with images that feel layered, intentional, and fully reflective of your day before it’s even begun.

And that’s just the beginning 🤍

This is the beginning of a weekly series called "5 Date Night Questions" created by a wedding photographer who wants couples to breathe a little deeper as they embark on their marriage journey. It was birthed out of my background in counseling, my heart for intentional relational investment, and my high value of the covenant of marriage.

This might be the most taboo thing to say as a professional in the wedding industry (especially one who LOVES a beautifully curated set of details), but wedding weekends do in fact have to come to an end. Plates and napkins will be returned, cakes will be eaten, and your people will all eventually head back home. However, what lies on the other side of your celebration is a fruitful, life-giving marriage that deserves preparation time.

So whether you're currently engaged, or you know someone who is, this is for you! Save this post for your next date night, where you step away from wedding planning and toward investing in a meaningful marriage.

Cheering you on. 🤍

Travel wedding days truly do light my heart up! Throughout this downtown Milwaukee wedding day, I chased the little design whispers and the big, unexpected laughs in equal measure. And one thing about me is that I will always keep my eyes out for both! The result was a gallery that feels like the city, the couple, and the people who adore them—elevated, sincere, and a little bit playful.

This started as a coffee conversation between me and Ashley from .

This Agave Estates editorial lived in my notes app, my Pinterest boards, then my sketchbook, then my iPad, and finally came to life because an incredible group of creatives joyfully and excitedly said yes to building something together. I had the honor of wearing both my designer and photographer hats for this one, and truly, it felt like such a gift to stretch creatively and dream big alongside such talented people. Not to mention this was the first time I’ve seen one of my design come together in person…and that might’ve sparked something in me. 👀

And yes, the wind was absolutely doing the most. As a Houston creative, I’ve seen my fair share of wild weather, and even I was thinking it was a bit ambitious of the wind to show up like that. But we stayed professional, laughed a lot, held onto florals for dear life, and somehow pulled it all off together like the kind of team you hope to create with! 😅

I’m so grateful, so proud, and so expectant for what this kind of creative collaboration turns into moving forward. Truly leaving this one with my creative heart so full. Go check out everyone listed below because truly, they are all incredible. 🤍

Here’s to serving our couples with more creativity, deeper insight, and lots of love. 🥂

Introducing the Schaibles. 🤍

Caleb & GraceAnne’s wedding felt like pure joy from beginning to end — a day rooted in Jesus, full of emotion, and overflowing with the kind of love that just feels contagious in the best way.

It was the big moments, yes — their first look, their vows, and a first dance where their natural rhythm and connection simply showed up and took over. It felt effortless and completely them. But the little moments made the day unforgettable too… the flower girl peeking through the window during the first look, quick hugs between photos, laughter layered on laughter, pre-ceremony prayer, and a reception where their people absolutely came ready to celebrate.

And this still gets me: they care so deeply about the people in their lives that during dinner, they intentionally walked table-to-table and talked with every single guest. Every one. That kind of love is intentional, thoughtful, and absolutely overflowing from hearts shaped by Jesus.

A favorite piece of this story? I met GraceAnne in Colorado while working at family camp in 2024. I photographed her (and so many sweet friends) in the mountains — and many of those same friends were guests at the wedding. So being there felt like the sweetest reunion, surrounded by people I truly adore.

And then — the cherry on top — when GraceAnne told me she saw her venue and immediately thought, “Kobie.” What even. 😭❤️ I’ll never stop being honored by moments like that. Add in a drive through the Texas Hill Country (my happy place!) to capture their story, and my heart was just full.
Ringing in the New Year with their celebration was an absolute dream.

Here’s to forever, Schaibles — cheering you on always. 🥂✨

Introducing: The Dream Hour ✨

A 1:1 60-minute creative development session for entrepreneurs and makers who need a fresh sounding board, new ideas, and structure that actually feels doable.

This idea was planted long before it had a name.

If you know me, you know my brain is always creating. I’m the guy who shows up at my mom’s door around 10pm like, “Okay… hear me out…” while she sits at the end of her bed — lovingly — bracing for idea #27 of the week.

Every time I brought her another concept (usually a promising one), she’d smile and say, “Kobie… did you get the journal yet?” For weeks I said, “No, not yet,” because I wanted to be my own person and not immediately take her advice. 🤦‍♂️😂

But eventually I bought the journal.
And I’m here to say publicly:
She was absolutely right.

Once I started writing, I realized I have about three new ideas a day — most of which, with the right time and care, could become real, sustainable businesses.

But I’m one man. With one capacity.
Because (shocker) I’m not God.

And one night, while I processed yet another idea I didn’t have the bandwidth to execute, she said something that changed everything:

“Kobie… what if you’re wired this way, but it’s not just for you?”

Light bulb. Heart punch. Holy Spirit clarity.

I fully believe God crafted me with:
• a counselor’s heart
• a teacher’s voice
• a shepherd’s warmth
• a mind that sees ideas clearly + quickly
• and a deep love for equipping His people
Not so I could build every dream —
but so I could help others build theirs.

That’s what The Dream Hour is.

For months I’ve been talking with creatives who feel:
• overwhelmed by ideas
• unsure where to start
• tired of trying to think it all through alone
• ready for clarity, momentum, and a real plan

This space is my answer —
a place to process, refine, dream, strategize, and walk away with practical next steps that honor your gifting and God’s direction for your life.

Your ideas matter.
Your calling matters.
God’s creativity in you matters.
Let’s make clarity feel possible — together.
