Fall portrait season is approaching, and this year I want to place greater emphasis on what happens beyond the photography session.
A portrait can become much more than an image viewed on a phone or stored among hundreds of digital files. Properly sized, professionally printed and beautifully framed, it becomes part of the home.
These two examples show how a finished portrait can command a room—whether displayed above the bed, in a living area or in another important space. The portrait, its scale and the framing are considered together so the finished piece feels at home in its surroundings.
For families and couples planning portraits this fall, I’ll be offering guidance from the photography itself through the selection of high-quality framed wall art. (Recent Portraits of Jose & Kristina Guzman and of Jeff Sanford and Leslie Barrows.
