Hey friends we’re going to explore cinematic lighting together at Photofest this weekend!

The increadable is headlining a hands-on workshop at Glazer’s Camera PhotoFest 2026 — it’s called the Cinematic Portrait Lab, and it’s all about live lighting and direction using .usa gear

No fluff, not a lecture-only talk, we will get right to work. You’re going to be right there in the action with us!

We’ll create portraits that are moody, intentional, and genuinely cinematic — and you’ll walk away knowing exactly how to recreate those looks on your own

We’re even giving away a iM30 flash to one lucky winner, but you must be registered in order to win!

PhotoFest runs May 29 through 31 in Seattle at Glazer’s Camera, and this workshop will fill up fast!

From last weeks photo walk with camera club! Models: .darke & .hannah.99 they braved chilly winds to bring their creativity to this sunset! Thank you both! Focal point asked me out to help demonstrate .usa LED and flash! These are the images I grabbed while demonstrating the ML150bi and LC100C LED fixtures.

Had a fantastic time with the camera club. We demonstrated .usa flash and LED units. The ML150BI provided a very useful fill light and its light weight and batter solutions made it a very low weight item to hike up the hill! We also used an LC1000R wand type light once the sun dipped low. All the lights and my camera fit very nicely in my shimoda action X 40L. Our fantastic models .hannah.99 and casually stunned in the windy and chilly evening! Thanks to both of them!

My favorite part of my job is demonstrating creative lighting! I call that part of my job “education and inspiration!” My hope is that I can show anyone in attendance that lighting is a wild storytelling tool that can take make an image memorable.

These images of were shot in an education room with only the prop window on a c-stand as a set. I added an RGB light source to the lantern to be a functional prop. The goal of the class was to show how using light we can take a space that is not dynamic and make it something special!

These images came from a creative RGB lighting course taught by and myself. Next year we will do more!!!

This image of is one of my favorites from last year! Jessica showed up with this awesome retro space suit and helmet! It certainly sparked my imagination! When we shot the image, I could see in my mind, the rocket taking off in the distance! A little post editing and It came together in this final image!

Always a highlight—THE 1 MOTO SHOW with PRO PHOTO PUPPLY!

As a rep for photo and video gear, I get to take part in some incredible events with our dealers—and one of the highlights over the years has definitely been the ! I’ve attended many times, but the last two years have been especially meaningful as a vendor alongside .

From a couple of shows back, here are some portraits I captured of Big Joe and his remarkable bike. Joe’s presence is as bold as his machine—both in stature and personality. He was generous enough to let us feature his bike in one of our lighting seminars, and I had the chance to photograph him and some of his fellow MC riders.

Big thanks to Joe for being such a memorable subject and for bringing so much character to the show!

Camping, cameras, and the cosmos—what more could you ask for?

🌌 Thank you to my friends at for inviting me to their incredible “Star Party” — a three-night, astro-photography-focused camping event under the Washington skies. I had the privilege of hosting the Camp Benro tent, sharing and demoing the Benro Polaris Astro head with such a passionate group of photographers.

📸 Just after midnight, I wandered down onto the dry stretch of riverbed near our campsite in Randall, WA. A few of the attendees were already there, we had some great late-night conversation. Above us, the Milky Way stretched out in brilliant clarity—visible to the naked eye in a way I rarely get to experience living in Portland.

I set up the Polaris, dialed it in. Thank you to .hawk , who not only trusted me with the Sony A1 + 20mm lens but also shared some clever tricks that made the astro workflow smoother than ever. The shot here is the result—capturing just a fraction of what it felt like to stand under that sky.

Huge thanks again to Glazer’s, everyone who joined us, you remind me why I love what I do. Here’s to more nights under the stars. ✨
