I’m Shanle Bowen, a wedding & engagement photographer based in North Georgia, and I have the absolute joy of capturing couples & stories that are joyful, romantic, and timeless. 🫶✨

Blackberry Ridge is one of the most enchanting venues I've ever visited, feeling more like you've just stepped out into the English countryside than Trenton, Georgia. Every space feels like a dream! My favorite space? The soaring glass Conservatory at golden hour. Nothing beats the magic and romance when late evening sunlight pours through, sparkling off glassware and richening the colors. I can't wait to visit again!

Warm breezes and cool grass? Or soaring cityscapes and crisp architecture? What would you choose for your engagement session? (Or what DID you choose!) Lauren and Trey leaned into the winding trails, golden light, and lush greens of this Carrolton GA park. To me, it reflected their personalities perfectly: natural, warm, and full of wonder.

Their wedding is in just a week and I find myself filled with excitement to see how those qualities are reflected in their day!

I almost couldn't believe the night was over. The lights raised, laughing guests collected discarded shoes and bags, and I stood in the middle of Chapel Athens with my heart full. Maybe just a little sad too, that it was time to say goodbye. Casey and Shane's wedding was, in three words, warm, joyful, and so authentic. As a wedding photographer, I'm often looking for the next moment, composing shots in my head, and mentally checking off the timeline. (My head is a busy place on a wedding day!) But this day, I felt like I lived it, from the tearful first look with Casey & Shane, to the mad dash through the sparklers. And it was glorious.

The getting-ready portion of the day is often where grooms portraits can shine. At Chateau Elan Winery & Resort, spaces like the suites and library create the perfect setting for a more tailored, editorial approach. Clean lines, darker tones, and structured compositions all lend themselves to portraits that feel intentional without being overly posed.

When I’m photographing grooms portraits, I focus on a mix of direction and observation. Adjusting a jacket, fastening cufflinks, or a quiet moment before stepping out of the room often becomes just as meaningful as the more composed shots,, bringing in personality and keeping the images from feeling too static.

Embrace the rain? Absolutely! Sometimes the weather does something a little unexpected...like pour down rain half an hour early. Faced with a limited time frame for photos and no ability to reschedule their engagement session, London and Adam chose to joyfully embrace the weather and dance in the rain at Columbus Botanical Gardens. And it was complete magic! Roses dripped with raindrops, blooms bent under the weight of the water, and these two laughed and splashed through the puddles.
