Love won and lost...

This is the story of the love between a faery man and a human woman, recorded in the liesegang rock formations at Illinois' Garden of the Gods.

Over time, the young faery man grew into the Guardian of this sacred place. In a remarkable 15-foot bas-relief mural, he recorded part of his own life story in the stone, preserving both the joy and the sorrow of that relationship.

Many years ago, while serving as president of Crystal Life Technology in Illinois, I created a video documenting this extraordinary mural and the story it tells.

Enjoy!

There’s a well-known hoodoo in Bryce Canyon, Utah called Queen Victoria. An entire area of the canyon — The Queen’s Garden — is named after this natural stone formation. The figure stands high on a narrow pinnacle overlooking the surrounding landscape.

I was curious how closely it might align with an actual portrait of Queen Victoria, so I juxtaposed the two images, placing the historical portrait along a spectral horizontal extension of the pinnacle top.

The resemblance is wonderfully close. It is interesting to consider how often natural formations organize themselves into recognizable human imagery.

Throwback Thursday 🌿✨

How does the loss of a tree affect the energy of an entire place? In this older article, I explore the idea that certain trees act as energetic anchor points within the landscape — helping hold the balance between nature, humanity, and the living consciousness of the land.

The article shares true stories of communicating with nature beings connected to trees, what can happen when forests are lost, and how large-scale environmental change affects the energetic grids of both nature and human communities. It also explores how human consciousness itself shapes the atmosphere of the places we live.

An interesting reflection on connection, responsibility, and the unseen relationships woven through the natural world.

Laura asked me “From your perspective, what is the impact of the loss of these trees” – referring to these Cottonwood trees with the images of a nature spirit and a pioneer, which I wrote about a few days ago. The answer is – it depends. It would take a book to answer. But to […]

HIDDEN FACES IN THE LONGWOOD GARDENS GROTTO
How many faces can you find in the stone walls of the Grotto at Longwood Gardens?

Hidden within the back of Longwood’s Fountain Garden Wall, the Grotto is a peaceful cave-like sanctuary built of Avondale brownstone sparkling with flecks of mica. A circular curtain of softly falling water fills the center of the chamber with cool mist and gentle sound.

As I photographed the stone walls, distinct personalities and face forms emerged throughout the rock surface.

Pause the reel and see how many beings you can discover. Feel free to mention timestamps or screenshots in the comments so others can find them too.

This tree being is quite the dandy, with curls running through his moss beard. He lives in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, in a moss-rich lowland section of the forest that is home to many moss-covered tree beings.
