I’m going to be real with y’all, this year has been hard.
Business has been the slowest it’s ever been. I’m still incredibly grateful to have bookings every month, but when this is your livelihood, the slow seasons can feel really heavy.
I have been unbelievably blessed to be a full-time mama while building this photography business. I’ve had the privilege of watching not only my own family grow, but so many of yours too. That is something I will never, ever take for granted.
I don’t miss clocking in and out of a corporate job. I definitely don’t miss retail, and if you ever experienced me as your bartender… I owe you an apology.🙃 Making Old Fashions until 2 a.m. was never my calling.
Something shifted this year. You can feel it. So many small businesses are feeling it; pretending otherwise doesn’t make it any less real.
I’ve always told myself I’d never be the person constantly posting, “Book me! Please book me! I’m desperate!!” In fact, I’ve written posts like this before and deleted them because I didn’t want anyone to see my insecurities.
But the truth is, when you see me posting flash sales and special offers, it isn’t because I love discounting my work. It’s because I’m doing everything I can to keep doing what I love.
This page, S.P. Photography, is my lifeline.
It’s how I connect with past clients, meet future ones, and share the beautiful moments I capture. It’s where I get to celebrate your growing families, your milestones, your love stories, and preserve them as memories that will outlive all of us.
This isn’t just a hobby. This is my career. It’s how I help provide for my family. It’s work I’m deeply proud of, and I pour my whole heart into it every single session.
So if I seem a little extra lately… if I’m posting more often, sharing more, or reminding you I’m here… it’s because this little corner of Facebook means everything to me.
Every comment, every share, every recommendation, every booking, it all matters more than you probably realize.
So yes… I might be a little awkward, a little vulnerable, and a little all over the place.
“But I’m also just a girl standing in front of a boy asking him to love her.” — Notting Hill (1999)
Except… the “boy” is all of you.
Thank you for sticking around, for trusting me with your memories, and for making it possible for me to keep chasing this dream. It means more than I could ever put into words. 💕
