I have been keeping a secret! A really juicy one, in my opinion.
A couple of months ago, the dynamic photography duo, David, and yours truly were summoned to capture a proposal moment – a routine gig, or so we thought. But oh, this one had butterflies, flamingos, and a wide receiver by the name of Terry McLaurin, from the Washington Commanders' #17!
Now, let's address the "football" in the room—my undeniable allegiance to the Kansas City Chiefs. I did my best to keep that under wraps, but as you all know, this season we are in desperate need for someone who can catch a ball! And after meeting Terry, who is incredibly kind, I would love for him to just slide on over to the KC team. How can we make that happen?! I did put my team pride on the back burner and focused on the "yes."
Terry chose the Butterfly Conservatory for his butterfly-loving girlfriend, Caitlin. Caitlin believed she was there for some innocent promotional photoshoot, and let me just say, I believe David and I are pretty great actors, convincing her of this fabricated reality. We started our "promo shoot," and when Terry hit his mark, Caitlin was completely taken by surprise. Terry's words to Caitlin were incredibly beautiful. Most of our knee bends are over pretty quickly, but Terry really took his time to speak to Caitlin. It was a privilege to be a witness to it. At one point, he declared that he wouldn't want to breathe if he couldn't share that air with her. I mean, even I was saying "yes" on her behalf at that point! Caitlin, of course, said yes, and Terry was just beaming—just look at the picture.
Next, I got to become a flamingo whisperer for a private encounter with Rhett and Scarlett. I absolutely loved the flamingos.
We then headed out to Little Palm Island for some more pictures, breathtaking views, and a private dinner on the beach.
Terry and Caitlin are two of the loveliest souls we've ever had the privilege of meeting. I am truly happy that these two found each other. We wish them all the best!
We had been patiently waiting for Terry and Caitlin to announce their big news for several weeks. I wasn't quite sure when that day would come, but go figure it happened while I was out shooting headshots in Key West, my phone started dinging incessantly. To make a long story short, you can now see our images featured in People, the NY Post, ESPN, NFL and of course Terry and Caitlin's instagram!
