I’d love to be able to say I randomly came across this image after the clouds caught my eye as I was casually strolling on the waterfront. The clouds did catch my eye, only on the opposite side of and the island and I proceeded to chase them and this picture for the next 20 minutes until I found this unobstructed shot that I was looking for. After seeing the captured image I think I’ll label it under well worth the effort. I hope you think so to.

I’m as lazy as the next photographer when it comes to wanting to hit the snooze button, usually followed by asking myself why in the world am I getting up before sunrise to go take pictures anyways? I’m also, more often than not, pleasantly reminded why after getting home and editing that mornings images. Like this one I’d completely forgotten I’d captured and especially like how you can see the moon just above the tree branches.

So you must be doing something right in the eyes of the Photography Gods when your first stop is to get a double buchi before you’re going to go out and take pictures and while you’re drinking said buchi you look up and see this in the sky above. It’s like Mother Nature was waiting for me and I’d like to thank her if she was. Happy Memorial Day and take lots of pictures people!

After running into my good friend Billy the other morning, who’s also the proprietor of this laid back shop and one of my all time favorite and aptly named ones, Coast, it reminded me of this image I captured a while back out taking early morning pictures. Everything about it defines Key West in a way. From the rooster, to the Shel Silverstein reference on the wall, the hanging bikes and of course the 90 Miles to Cuba sign, it slowly became one of my favorites. I hope you think so too.

I left my house a little extra early this morning to give myself plenty of time to try and find an image to wish everybody a Happy Easter with. I was back at my house, double buchi in hand, in under 20 minutes after finding this one 5 blocks away. Happy Easter everybody 😀
