Back to painting!

Experiment using oil paints on watercolor paper primed with shellac.

Two thin coats of shellac to prevent the oil from seeping through the paper.

Really enjoyed this! Used very little paint and blending was easy!

Really enjoyed the process!!
Who needs canvas!!

EDIT: A BETTER PICTURE

NEWEST PROJECT!

When your ADD kicks in and inspiration strikes, you let it!!

I've had some gourds sitting there waiting for me to work on them.

This "bowl" is small. Cut the top off and the inside is a nice pearly white. No real mess. Gourd was grown last year.

Components -
paperwasp paper - taken from on the house a few years ago. Love the color variations
Dried peace lily leaves - when something dies... it's still useful. These are very substantial
Walnuts - someone keeps leaving walnuts for me to find on the property. Surprisingly not all that difficult to slice.

I prefer to use natural colors and mostly natural adornments. Beads, ribbon ok. But I like how this went together all in just a few hours!!

Just finished. Will let it dry and will decide if it warrants any finishing touches.

Still finding my style.
Some artists can be identified immediately because all of their work has a look.
I doubt I can stick to one look!!

This abstract was fun because its so colorful. Done with a palette knife its quick without worrying about blending colors.
Blending colors is therapeutic but takes a while. Palette knife is just swipe on color and that's it.

View is from a small bridge over the east branch of the Perkiomen Creek. Fog always creates interest. Wasn't sure if I could I could capture that.
