It’s Roseate Spoonbill season here in Southeast Georgia and these vibrant beauties are out in full display. Their bright pink feathers and unique spoon shaped bills make them one of the most stunning birds to photograph.
This shot was all about patience, light, and timing a quiet moment where the Spoonbill gave me a perfect profile.

Sunset in at Centinnial Park in Fort Myers, Fl.

Some evenings stop you in your tracks—and this was one of them. Sunset over the Caloosahatchee in Fort Myers, with the bridge lit up and palm trees standing like sentinels against the sky. That transition from golden light to deep blue always gets me. Grateful for scenes like this.

Happy Birthday to Little Gracie. Gracie Perry Watson was born in 1882 in South Carolina and grew up in Savannah, Georgia. She was the cherished only child of W. J. and Frances Watson, who managed the prestigious Pulaski House Hotel. Gracie was known for delighting hotel guests with impromptu dancing and singing.
Tragically, Gracie died from pneumonia just two days before Easter in 1889, at the tender age of six. Her loss devastated her parents.

A heartfelt memorial followed: in 1890, sculptor John Walz—a recent arrival in Savannah—carved a life-sized marble statue of Gracie based on a photograph. The sculpture captures her likeness in remarkable detail, making it one of the only funerary monuments in Georgia sculpted from an actual image. .cemetery
