1st week of lab, the Javelina ROTC conducted training on Army Appearance and Grooming Standards and Drill & Ceremony. From sharp uniforms to synchronized movement, these foundational labs instill discipline, self-pride, and attention to detail in every cadet. 💯 🐗

Congratulations to CDT Trejo on successfully completing Cadet Summer Training!

Biggest Lesson Learned

“The biggest lesson I learned at CST was that helping and encouraging others is far more important than trying to outperform everyone. In my opinion, you’re only as strong as your weakest link.”

Most Challenging Part

“The mental aspect was the hardest. Being constantly sleep-deprived and hungry takes a toll on you, but going through it with friends who are experiencing the same challenges makes you laugh, stay motivated, and appreciate the people around you.”

Advice for Future Cadets

“Be a team player and make as many friends as you can. Even though you’re being evaluated individually, your squad is all you have. When you support each other, morale improves, and the entire experience becomes much more rewarding.”

As he continues his summer training, CDT Trejo will head directly to Airborne School to take on his next challenge.

Beach to Bay 2026 🏅

Congratulations to Joanis, Lopez, Trejo, Flores, and Marquez for successfully completing the Beach to Bay Relay Marathon in Corpus Christi.

These cadets have shown incredible discipline and dedication, consistently showing up to training and pushing themselves week after week. Just one week prior, the team completed an 18-mile run in preparation for race day.

A special congratulations to 2LT Joanis and 2LT Lopez, who commissioned the day before and crossed the finish line as newly commissioned officers.

Congratulations to all five cadets on this outstanding accomplishment.

Senior Spotlight: Cadet Joanis

The Javelina Battalion is proud to highlight CDT Joanis, currently serving as the S1/PAO and previously serving as the Command Sergeant Major.

Following commissioning, she plans to attend law school and continue her professional development.

Fun Fact:
She has traveled to 26 states and 4 countries, speaks two languages, and hopes to learn Korean in the near future.

We are proud to have her as part of the battalion.
