Anxiety can strike anyone—even seasoned divers with hundreds of dives. At 60 feet underwater, a racing heart and rapid breathing can make clear decisions much harder. It’s a reminder that experience doesn’t make anyone immune.

Nitrox isn’t just for deep dives. Between 18 and 30 meters, it can add meaningful bottom time while staying within safe oxygen limits—and some agencies even use it as standard gas at greater depths.

Metal structures can distort compass readings underwater. Swim a short distance away, then check again. With practice, your compass becomes one of the most useful tools for easier dive navigation.

Salt water can hide in tiny screw holes and crevices. After soaking, use pressurized air to clear moisture from cameras, torches, and other gear with buttons or small openings—helping prevent rust.
