Our recent trip to Europe looked a lot different than our usual mountain adventures. It started with quiet solo days in Zurich, followed by a lot of rain in the Dolomites, an early anniversary celebration at a castle, and an unforgettable sunny climbing day near Lake Garda.

PolaCon meant Polaroid for the March selection of 12 Months on Film! I was nervous to attend PolaCon, full of fear and self doubt. I thought I wasn’t creative enough, quirky enough, PolaNerdy enough. From the moment I arrived at the first event, all my doubts melted away. The community was welcoming, playful, and so very willing to share ideas and tips. Instead of feeling less than, the group made me feel inspired and free. My new PolaPals reminded me the whole reason I got into photography…. because it’s FUN.

I'm working on catching up on the 2026 12 Months on Film project. I spent January with the Pentax 17 and a retro 90s film stock that took me right back to high school and college, making me wish I still had my old Olympus Stylus.

I kicked off this year’s 12 Months on Film project with the Pentax 17 and a new to me film stock - LomoChrome Color ‘92. This film brings all the vibes from my high school years and had me brainstorming to figure out which Olympus Stylus I had back then. I really wish I had kept that camera!

The Quiet Before the Roar: Scouting for the King Tide at Cape Disappointment

In photography, we often focus on the peak of the action, but sometimes the most meaningful moments are found in the quiet anticipation. This post is a reflection on the evening before the big King Tide event. We took a deliberate trip to scout locations, beginning with a visit to the charming North Head Lighthouse, followed by a stop at Waikiki Beach.
