As LightSpell moves into 2026, I’m stepping into a more focused, intentional chapter and one that reflects both the artist I am and the professional path I’m continuing to build.

I’ve spent years offering a broad range of portrait services because I deeply believe everyone deserves to be seen beautifully. Historically, I’ve offered free or reduced-cost portraits to families, seniors, newborns, and others whenever possible because access to meaningful images matters to me.

That belief hasn’t changed.
What has changed is the season I’m in.

In 2026, I will be graduating with both my MBA and MSW, pursuing licensure, and expanding my work into research, writing, leadership, and clinical social work. As my professional responsibilities grow, LightSpell must become more focused, sustainable, and creatively aligned.

Going forward, LightSpell will concentrate on depth rather than breadth.

Beginning in 2026, I will be primarily focused on:

• Elopements
(We are licensed officiants and curate intentional elopement experiences—including legal ceremonies, personalized scripts, styling, and the ability to travel.)

• Individual portraits and conceptual / stylized art sessions
(Body-love elements may be part of these concepts; traditional or full bo***ir will no longer be offered.)

• Very select seniors and couples — conceptual sessions only.

I will no longer offer event, branding/headshots, family, maternity, newborn, child, holiday, engagement, traditional bo***ir, pet, or full wedding coverage.
(Be patient with me as I update my website and pricing).

While my offerings are narrowing, my values remain the same. Hospice and end-of-life portraits will always be provided at no cost. Creating space for dignity, presence, and remembrance will always matter to me.

LightSpell has consistently carried a fine-art approach in everything delivered. Now, I’m intentionally stepping fully—and inclusively—into the art world with this work, while continuing to explore meaningful ways to weave my social work values into my creative practice.

As always, each session is thoughtfully curated using classic portrait foundations, fashion planning, photojournalism, intentional styling, and care.

Thank you for growing with me, trusting me, and allowing LightSpell to evolve.

With Love,
Angelecia💫

This project is one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever worked on. 🤍

I created this collage with the help of my mom for my aunts and uncles with all 11 siblings’ portraits, along with their parent's portrait (my great grandparents).

Every time I look at it, I’m struck by how different they all are, yet how clearly they belong to one another. They are all so beautiful.

All of the original photos came from decades ago. My mom did an incredible amount of work finding, scanning, and preserving the photos and she truly is the historian of our family. My mom also began some of the restoration work on her own before I ever began my portion.

It's not perfect but I worked on each image carefully, layer by layer, doing what I could to restore them, adjust light and alignment, eye line etc. and bring them together into one cohesive piece. I’m not a professional photo restorator by any means but I used a mix of Lightroom, Photoshop, Canva, and some integrated AI tools to help.
Overall, I’m really proud of how it turned out.

Some of the siblings had never seen their portraits in color before my mom's original work. My Uncle Doug never had a colored image from this time period and the original was never found, so his portrait was restored from a small yearbook photo. My Aunts Kathy and Deborah had pastel-painted originals bringing on their own unique restorative challenges. For some, like my Uncle Dennis, this is the only posed photo he ever had of himself. My grandmother Ruth was very camera shy, which makes her portrait especially cherished.

This project was emotional. It is still recent since I lost my Aunt Kimm, and only weeks since my Uncle Doug passed (I was so close to him, and almost all my Christmas tree ornaments were gifts from him over the years).
My Aunt Charlie, who meant so much to me, died when I was a teenager.
My grandmother Ruth is here too. I think she is so beautiful. My middle name is Ruth and I’m named after her. She died young, before I was born, but through stories I feel deeply connected to her. I see pieces of her in myself, and in my daughter Melah.

Seeing everyone together again, even if only digitally, felt intense and special at the same time.

What makes this even more meaningful is that Uncle Doug was the photographer of our family and without him many photos of even my own childhood wouldn't exist. To work on these images, especially his, and to carry forward that same passion is something I hold with deep gratitude. I am beyond honored to continue his legacy in my own way and I have been quietly struggling immensely with his recent passing.

Each living aunt and uncle will receive a 7×11 print gift of the collage from my mom which feels like only a small way to honor a big family, shared history, and lives that matter deeply.

(I have included an original so you can see the state some of these images started from)

With the light changing throughout the day, each Christmas gallery turned out so completely different this year! There were different colors, different moods, and each their own little moments, yet somehow, they all still belong in the same holiday chapter. 🎄✨

Ryan & Rebekah | October 7th, 2025
An elopement unlike any other 🖤

This was such a special day and my husband Ryan had the honor of officiating marriage for two of our close friends, Ryan and Rebekah, while I planned and curated every detail of their elopement: the location, florals, announcement design, cake (made by Marta’s Cakes and cookies), crystal amethyst, grandma lilybelle’s table, and the overall setup and day’s design. I even made Rebekah's wreath bouquet!

We had to move the timing around multiple times to dodge the heavy thunderstorms that rolled through that day (and they say it’s good luck when it rains on your wedding day 🌧️) Somehow, the clouds broke just in time, giving us the most dramatic, moody light for their ceremony and photos which was the perfect match for this couple’s aesthetic. You can even see the light sprinkle in some of the images! 💧

Dark elegance and mood met vibrant, romantic details in a setting that felt made for them. Every candle, flower, and deep tone came together to tell their story both timeless and intentional.

I had the joy of documenting their engagement photos in San Diego this summer, oceanside under bright light and to now be part of their intimate vow exchange in this hauntingly beautiful autumn scene was pure magic. 🌓

Every piece of this day felt poetic, personal, and perfectly them ⚡️es

🎄 East End Loft Holiday Minis 2025 🎄

It’s that time! I’ll be hosting Holiday Mini Sessions at the East End Loft again this year, and the setup is absolutely beautiful with soft blues, silvers, champagne tones, and warm lights. It’s got that mix of cozy and elegant that feels like winter magic.

There’s a classic tree setup and a styled bed, so you can do anything from sweet family photos to something a little more intimate.

📸 Details:
• $125 per session
• 15 minutes each
• Sessions start at 12:00 PM and run for about 2.5 hours
• Only 7 spots available

The studio is upstairs and accessible by elevator, so please plan to come a few minutes early to park and get settled before your slot. I’ll be keeping things right on schedule, so it’s important to be on time.

🎨 What to Wear:
This setup looks best with:
✨Soft neutrals (cream, ivory, beige, light gray)

✨Dusty or icy blues

✨Champagne golds or soft metallics

✨Blush tones

✨White or light textures like knit, velvet, or satin

❌Try to avoid all black or very dark colors as the backdrop has a dark wall that can make them blend in. Navy or dark denim is fine in small doses if it’s paired with lighter tones.

Whether you’re coming with family, your partner, or just celebrating yourself this year, this setup is perfect for capturing a little bit of holiday warmth and sparkle❄️

📩 Book Here to grab a spot because there are only seven!
