This Memorial Day, Cloud Four would like to honor the brave heroes who sacrificed their lives for our country, and the families who continue to carry their memories forward every single day. This holiday is not about the long weekend, it’s about those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting our nation and our freedom will never be forgotten. We remember them with gratitude and respect, and keep gratitude in our hearts for the freedoms we are privileged to enjoy each day. Today, I carry with me the memories of the heroes that are no longer with us and hold their families in my heart.

The Riderless horse is one of the most powerful traditions. With a saddle left empty and boots reversed in the stirrups, the Riderless Horse represents a fallen soldier taking one final ride on his trustworthy steed. It is a way to honor and that person’s sacrifice, commitment and service. I hope this image serves as a visual reminder that our freedom has come at an extraordinary cost paid by service members who never made it home.

Our hearts are with the Growler Demonstration Team’s pilots, maintainers, crew as well as their friends and family following a mid-air collision at Mountain Home AFB this past weekend. I am so incredibly grateful that all four pilots are safe and that nobody on the ground was injured in the crash. A truly terrifying way to finish an airshow weekend, but everyone is safe and that’s all that matters in the end 🩶✈️

I just love the way that the APU’s heat and exhaust have colored the tail cone of this CommuteAir Embraer 175 🔥 I’ve never seen one with such vibrant coloring and I hope she comes back to pay Eugene Airport another visit!
