Almost two months into my role as Social Media Marketing Assistant at Foothills Marine, and I can honestly say I’ve loved every minute of it!

Since starting in June, I’ve been photographing and filming boats on the water, creating graphics, managing our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube channels, and diving into the analytics behind every post. It’s been exciting to see how creativity and data work together to grow a brand.

One of the coolest parts has been watching content go from an idea to something that reaches thousands of people, sparks conversations, brings customers through the door, and contributes to real sales. Seeing that connection between digital marketing and the real world has been incredibly rewarding.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from such an awesome team and continue growing as both a photographer and marketer. This role has already taught me that great marketing is about more than creating content! It’s about telling a story, building relationships, and getting results. I’m excited to keep learning and see where this journey takes me!

Last night I had the opportunity to speak with the App State Ad Club, an organization I was proud to be a part of during my time at App State and the university’s chapter of the AAF.

I shared insights from my current photography internship at Altar’d State, along with what I’ve learned about building a strong portfolio and navigating the intersection of photography and advertising.

One month at Altar’d State ✨

This past month has been a deep dive into high-volume e-commerce production: photographing layflats for web, assisting on on-figure shoots, and learning how brand consistency comes to life at scale.

I’ve gained so much appreciation for the precision, collaboration, and workflow that go into customer-facing imagery.
