I’d say a 50 year wedding anniversary is a great time to get the whole family together to celebrate and also have an extended family session captured with the smoky mountains as a backdrop!

This family was SO FUN to work with!! I truly get to work with the best clients ever and I love how they were so relaxed and had fun laughing with each other and playing.

I love that they opted to end their session at “the wall” too; my favorite spot at sunset. Although we didn’t make it quite to sunset because it sets so late and we had some little ones who were tired and ready to get out of the sticky heat, we still made the best of it!

When all the planning of the outfits and planning the right location come together beautifully. Despite a 5 minute downpour on us, the evening ended up being beautiful with a little peek of sun at the end.

When planning a session in East Tennessee, here are a couple things you might experience when working with me:

1. If the weather calls for rain we may adjust our session time to avoid it or we may just go for it because the weather could pass over us in 5 minutes.

2. If there’s water at our location I will always ask if you want to get in the water. If you say no, my feelings aren’t hurt, but if you say yes it’s a great way to cool off in the summer and makes for some fun and beautiful photos

3. Prepare to laugh a lot! We play, joke, and take nothing too seriously.

4. Your husband might say he had a lot of fun at the end of our shoot and agree to do it again in the future. That has become the biggest compliment to me! When the hubby has fun, everyone has fun, and I’ve heard it over and over again: “that was actually fun, we can do this again next year!”

It’s a win-win for you mamas and grandmas who want to capture this season in your family’s life.

Not only did this family drive all the way from California for our session, but we also went on a bit of an adventure to find this troll bridge in the smoky mountains and it didn’t disappoint!

I have way too many to share from this family session in Bryson City! First off, Bryson City is a beautiful small mountain town that we love exploring! Second, this Airbnb that my clients stayed out had the most spectacular grounds and view, I would LOVE to photograph here again!

It was such a special place with a special family. If they decide to do this yearly at this location or travel somewhere else, I’m all in to do more sessions in the future! I have camera and will travel anywhere! 😁

If there’s water at a photography location and it’s hot outside, I will always ask if my client wants to go in. It’s refreshing and also makes for beautiful photos!
