I found two timber rattlers in Cades Cove yesterday close to the loop road. This was the only one that was in decent light. I was not as close as it appears. Taken from an extremely safe distance with a long lens and cropped in. The snake was not disturbed for the photo! Enjoy!

I spent late afternoon and evening in Cades Cove yesterday. I found this little guy enjoying the cherries on the Cherry Tree late evening. After eating green leaves all day, who could blame a guy for eating cherries for dessert? Can you find the photo where he is full and just relaxing?

320 came in to join the herd while we were there. He sure is getting big! His rack looks good, still in velvet! Oconaluftee Visitor Center using Long Lens and cropped in. The fields are closed when the elk are present and for a good reason. This large animals can move fast and make some real damage. However, they are great to watch from a distance!

Late evening drive around the loop on Monday, saw a few bears at a distance in the tall grass, but I was able to get a few of a Momma and yearling. Disclaimer...these are taken with a long lens and heavily cropped as the bears were a good distance away.
