You know I like to tell stories with EVERY post, right? 😂

Well, this story is probably the craziest one yet!

First, I want to start by saying how incredibly grateful I am that this sweet family chose me for a second time. 🥹 I had the pleasure of taking Mom’s maternity photos when she was pregnant with this sweet boy, and after they moved up North, they wanted to get back together for some adorable 2nd birthday photos for him!

Per usual, I did my obsessive weather watching throughout the entire week. 😂 There was a small system in the area, but it wasn't even remotely close to us. It was WELL out of our way, so I had absolutely zero concern about the weather for our session.

We met on location, and everything was looking beautiful. We started with a few family photos, and then...

BOOM. 🌧️

It started POURING.

And I am not even exaggerating when I tell you it was pouring harder than anything I had ever experienced being outdoors. 😂 I literally said, "it felt like a pool was being poured on me" when explaining it to my husband.

We took cover under a tree, which actually helped a ton, while I ran back over to where we had all of our stuff to grab an umbrella for them. I even tried setting up my changing tent over everything to keep things dry.

At that point, I took the umbrella over to my clients and told them to RUN to the car because it had gotten to the point where I didn't feel like it was safe to wait it out.

Meanwhile...

RADAR SHOWED NOTHING.

Not “a little bit of rain.”

Not “maybe something is moving our way.”

NOTHING.

The system I had been watching still wasn't near us.

We eventually made it back to our vehicles, and with the rain still absolutely NUTS, we decided it was best to reschedule.

And y'all... I was EMBARRASSED. I have never had an issue like this happen in all my years of doing this. I felt awful, especially knowing they had a drive to get there.

So we left. And then, within about FIVE MINUTES, the sun came out. ☀️

I immediately called Mom because I knew they had a drive and had already gone through all of that trouble to get there WITH A CAKE.

Thankfully, she was totally up for giving it another shot!

So I turned around, we set up the CUTEST little 2-year-old birthday setup, and we shot for another hour.

And somehow, after ALL of that chaos it ended up being absolutely gorgeous. 🥹

I still wish we could have skipped the whole “completely random biblical downpour that wasn't even showing on radar” portion of the evening, but I am SO glad we decided to give it one more try.

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to be there for so many milestones. ❤️

Last fall, I photographed this sweet family's pumpkin patch mini session. When she reached out and asked me to photograph their courthouse wedding in San Marcos, I was so honored to be part of another special chapter in their story.

They were joined by their adorable son, both sets of parents, a set of grandparents, and the bride's sisters, making it such an intimate and meaningful celebration. It was full of so much love.

And can we talk about the courthouse for a second?! 😍 I was obsessed with all of the gorgeous architecture and beautiful little corners we found throughout the building. Every turn seemed to be another perfect backdrop.

Congratulations to these two! Thank you for trusting me to capture another unforgettable milestone for your beautiful family. 🤍

As I'm finalizing my 2026 holiday mini session calendar, I'm considering adding a brand-new holiday studio option in Kyle!

Right now, I'm planning to offer:

🤍 Austin Studio Minis – Bright, airy, modern, and minimalist with lots of natural light.

✨ NEW Kyle Studio Minis? – Warm, cozy, and elegant with a classic Christmas feel.

I know everyone has a different style, so I'd love to offer something for everyone.

This was my second graduation session with Mia...and I believe our SIXTH photoshoot together! 🥹🎓

I can't believe we are already celebrating her kindergarten graduation! Watching my little clients grow up is one of my absolute favorite parts of this job.

Some of you may remember the "ghost" photos from last year's pumpkin patch minis...that was this sweet family! 👻😂 We've also done bluebonnet minis and several pumpkin patch sessions together over the years.

I had such a blast with Mia, as always. Our sessions are always so relaxed, full of laughs, and just genuinely fun which makes my job pretty easy.

And a little bonus shoutout... Mia's mom makes the BEST cakes with Butter Me Pretty. They're as amazing as they are beautiful! 🩷

Congratulations on graduating kindergarten, Mia! I can't wait to see what adventures first grade brings. 🌸🎓

I absolutely love seeing more guys getting senior photos done, and I especially love when they bring something that's meaningful to them... whether that's a cowboy hat, their favorite car, or both.

One of my favorite details from Jr.'s session was his graduation tassel. He had a charm with a photo of him and his grandmother attached to it, and it made for some incredibly special photos that I'm sure his family will treasure.

This session was extra meaningful for me because I photographed his sister's senior session a couple of years ago at this same Buda location. It's such a privilege getting to watch families grow and celebrate these milestones together. Now I just have one more sibling to photograph in a few years. ❤️ Time really does fly.

Congratulations, Jr.! Wishing you all the best in this next chapter...and once again, nice car! 🎓🏎️

Hi again! 😊

I have another fun session to share!

Deborah and her family came to Lockhart for a wedding and wanted to get some updated extended family photos while everyone was together. Since they were already making the trip, I wanted to make things as easy as possible for everyone, so I scouted out a location in Lockhart and thought it was perfect.

As the session date got closer, the rain chances kept climbing. Unfortunately, this was one of those sessions that couldn't really be rescheduled because of everyone's travel plans.

We met up and started on top of the hill where I knew there was a covered areas just in case. Then, as we were heading back to the cars to drive down to the field... it absolutely started pouring! 😂

We waited it out in the cars for a bit, and once the rain slowed, we headed to the field and finished the session in the prettiest moody light (and light sprinkles).

I honestly couldn't have asked for a more adventurous (or patient!) family to photograph. Everyone rolled with the weather, trusted the process, and it was well worth it in the end.

Things I expected to do when I became a photographer:

✔ Photograph families
✔ Photograph weddings
✔ Photograph anniversary celebrations

Things I did NOT expect:

Meeting four elephants before clocking in for a 60th anniversary event.

One of my favorite parts of this job is that I never know where it's going to take me next.

Sometimes it's a sunset family session.
Sometimes it's a courthouse wedding.
And sometimes it's standing in front of four elephants wondering how on earth this became my life.

I definitely picked the right career.
