Who is Cedarbrook Studio? That's me! My name is Sarah. When I'm not working at our local school, you can find me cheering for my son and his teammates at sporting events or out photographing the beauty of the Skagit Valley.

I've been taking photographs since I was about 9 years old, but didn't really get into it until about 2011. I've dabbled in a few photography classes here and there but am mostly self taught. While photography isn't my full time job, it is something that helps ground me and allows me to express gratitude for my surroundings and where I live. I love to share the beauty of this special place that I call home and the people that help to keep it going.

My 'studio' is nature based. When you purchase prints, cards, or calendars from me or a local store that carries my items, you are not just helping a small business owner, you are helping to support the local organizations that I contribute to - including La Conner Braves Booster Club, Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland, Genuine Skagit Valley, and The Skagit County Farmland Legacy Program.

If you enjoy seeing my work, please make sure to 'follow' along and tell a friend about my page.

Thank you for supporting my art!

Thank you for a great light show over the Swinomish Channel last night. I always have fun picking a spot along the boardwalk to enjoy the view and take some pictures. This year it was near the Nicole J, by the La Conner Pub & Eatery.

This morning I didn't find anything that really caught my eye. It was dark. So I picked up a coffee and went toward home. Just then, a bald eagle swooped down in front of my car and landed by the roadside. Because there was no traffic this early, I was able to pull over and photograph it before a lone car passed in the opposite direction, which caused it to fly off. You sometimes forget how big eagles are until you see them up close. It was such a great reminder to me that there is always something to be grateful for, despite life's many challenges and hardships.

Wishing you a wonderful 4th of July wherever you may be πŸ¦…πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Potato blossoms dot the landscape in nearby fields throughout Skagit County. Perhaps not as famous as our spring daffodils and tulips, but I think beautiful in their own way.
