The Neshonoc power station is a 420-kilowatt hydroelectric generating station located on the LaCrosse River near West Salem, Wisconsin. The facility is equipped with two Leffel turbine units. The facility produces approximately 2 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy in a typical year. The Neshonoc facility began commercial operation in 1914. It's currently operated by Eagle Creek Renewable Energy. Eagle Creek Renewable Energy operates 85 facilities across the United States.

The remnants of the once-thriving community of Avalanche were explored, revealing a storied past.

According to Google, this location boasted multiple houses, a schoolhouse turned church later on, mills, factories, and more during its peak in the 1800s. However, a devastating flood in 1907 and the eventual closure of the schoolhouse in the 1960s led to widespread abandonment, with only two houses remaining occupied. Despite its history, the site is slowly being reclaimed by nature, leaving minimal remnants. Avalanche, WI is situated approximately 7 miles from Westby, WI.
